Bayh memo bashing Clinton re:Magnequench hits papers tommorow!

Chris asked about the state of the race and Howey said "It's still very fluid." He talked about Barack's early lead in Feb. and the tightening of the polls since, whether it's due to the Rev., or the "gas" pander. Then he threw the bombshell. He stated that a memo from Evan Bayh has surfaced in which Bayh blames the Clinton's for the closing of the Magnequench plant in Vapraiso, Indiana, and this memo is due to hit the presses tomorrow (and hopefully will change the fucking conversation). Howey also set the stage by stating that Hillary had been campaigning 2 weeks ago on this plant closing, blaming it on Bush, and that this had been effective tactic for her.

Opps...
Looks like Hillary's little credibility problem is about to surface again, and not a moment too soon I might add.

I trust him as much as I trust Joe Lieberman. If he stabs Hillary in the back...then you know what he's made of. Not the kind of Dem that we would want to stake our lives on remaking this party with. He was always rumored to be close to Hillary..even her VP Pick. He's a snake.

I read that on Kos, and it looks like it was an older memo where he "blamed" Bill maybe?

There's another blog that says it's taken out of context, sort of. It's definitely a Hillary supporter blog, but I don't know how damning the memo could be if this is the case. Guess it depends on what it says if it gets released according to Howie. I wouldn't get too excited yet.

As for the Kos diary, the Evan Bayh memo appears to have been written to complain about the move, but blames it on the initial sale. Certainly, in retrospect, it would seem like the sale was a bad idea. But it does seem that the Clinton administration got assurances the factory wouldn’t be moved (at least until 2005) and the factory was moved anyway in 2003 without the Bush Administration doing anything to stop it. David Sirota is also already pushing this story.
