1. Probably a hit job. Republican-owned media can't allow Obama
to win the next 2 primaries, otherwise they might not get Hillary to run against.

8. They were originally developed for National Geographic channel, but no one watched them ..........
there so MSNBC probably got a good deal on them.

I find it amusing that MSNBC calls itself a 24 hour news channel. You actually need to show "news" for "24 hours" to be considered a 24 hour news channel.

4. It's Pretty Damn Obvious the Media wants to Destroy Obama
and wants more Democratic infighting to soften up the Republican's GE opponent. We should just call America, Republika... since corporate America only wants pro-corporate folks in our government. One party system=fascist

Edited on Sat May-03-08 02:56 PM by fascisthunter
and we know who is invested in the media and who the media is invested in, so I'm no longer believing it's just about ads. Corporate America uses the media as more than a venue for ads. They control the news and what gets covered as news. We live in a country that is controlled by corporate America. And too many go along with it, because they benefit from it to some degree. Most of America sold out.....

10. ENOUGH!!!!
You would think that there is nothing to talk about except Wright. I want to hear discussion in the primaries about Iraq, the economy, health insurance, high gas prices, etc., not this crazy pastor. I thnk I will e-mail MSNBC (again) with my complaint.

since they will be playing it all week-end...meaning that I won't even "check" the channel to see what is going on.

I call it the Plantation Prison Show.
That way it can reassure the Evil Doers that everything is alright in their Paradise.

And... the Bush Crime families get richer.

26. What a country
A guy like Wright did the best he could. Smart, has standards, a bit of a temper...lots of black people have gotten themselves killed for less. And we turn him into a freak.

13. How about giving us a heads up when it's NOT on?
The corporate media is so transparent in its attempt to destroy Obama and get Hillary with her 60% negatives.

They have abandoned subtlety as Obama closes in on the nomination.

19. Yes they have abandoned subtlety
Buchanan was blowing his dog whistle hard the other day basically telling America to wake up because we might elect a black president.

Tweety said yesterday that Wright "ghettoizes Obama and puts him back in the hood. Subtlety has gone out the window now. The media is sticking it right in our face.

14. My letter to MSNBC
Thanks MSNBC,
I am glad the war is going swimmingly(Mission Accomplished!), the economy is bullish, the environment is on the mend, gas and food prices are at record low, in order to afford this channel to fill its programming for well over a week with all Wright all the time. From Mornin' Joe nearly growing hoarse while squawking about Wright to this highly vital "Special Report" from Dan Abrams on Saturday, MSNBC has proven it has the finger on the pulse of the people. While I'm sad that you had to preempt your "World's Wackiest Pedophiles" programming to provide this guilt by association public service, I am relieved that you have not for a moment discussed the godly and rapture ready, Catholic loving, McCain political and spiritual advisor, the glorious Reverand Hagee. If I may make a suggestion, perhaps a "Special Report" about flag lapel pins and sinister sounding middle names? We Americans may not be able to afford to fill up our gas tanks, afford our homes, or get a job, but we really need to get to the bottom, of those issues! Kudos, MSNBC, Edward R Murrow would be proud!

21. 24/7 media coverage of a non-issue in an attempt to sway voters
Edited on Sat May-03-08 01:25 PM by Cali_Democrat
It's not even about what Obama thinks or says. It's all about what his pastor says.

Many pastors in America, white or black, are EXTREMELY controversial and say stupid things. That doesn't mean everyone who attends the church should be held accountable. It's common sense.

This is definitely a hit job. Especially the way the media is playing to America's racial insecurities and the double standard at work.

24. If a Presidential candidate goes to a church with a controversial pastor, it's going to be an issue.
Much less the type of relationship Obama had with Wright, his "Uncle", advisor, married them, baptized..etc,etc..

28. That's fine if it's covered a few times and the American people are informed
Edited on Sat May-03-08 01:45 PM by Cali_Democrat
I have no problem with it being an issue. I have a problem with the over the top media coverage.

It has been Wright 24/7 for about a week now. Every news show leads off with Wright and has done for a week. It's absurd.

This is being done in the lead up to the NC and Indiana primaries.
