Obama's speech versus Clinton's speech
I cant vote in your election, but I thought Obama's speech was better, he sounded more presidential.

24. Completely wrong. It's almost entirely new, even from two days ago at the NC J-J dinner.
Edited on Sun May-04-08 11:01 PM by milkyway
I've seen many of his events live online, and he has been using a very different speech throughout this week than he had been using before. But the one tonight was different again. There are some chunks from past speeches, but it is a complete rewriting, I assume for the event tonight.

8. We're watching it delayed. She's talking so slow it's about to put me to sleep.
We did manage to catch her ripping off parts of Obama's speech from Friday though. She did the same thing in her PA win speech. Hillary McSame - Change you can Xerox.

10. I noticed that.
That's what happened when you are on the trail so long. You start borrowing the applause like from your opponent, and believe that you came up with them yourself.

It's a cheap trick, but then, she's a bankrupt candidate.

16. Hillary always makes me
Push on the mute button, so I can just READ what she says, not actually have to listen to her raspy shrill voice, hammering away at her fellow party member. She's a piece of work, for sure, and never misses a chance to shill for votes with a false promise of tax relief for 90 days. yeah, she gets the vote of the truckers, a few thousand in NC and IN who are stupid enough to believe what she says.....but most of them are McCain supporters anyway.

She lost me with her promise of ..............well............just about anything to get elected.......and praise for using force to conquer our "enemies". Did I hear her say she wanted to make sure oil companies pay their fair share? Oh, I guess that's what she wishes would happen. No substance, just wishes.

19. I do the same thing for Fox News
It's sad. I scan all of the news channels, I'll peak in at Fox to see what the enemy is up to. I husband walks out of the room if he hears Fox news (so does my dog!) When I can't listen anymore and I'll mute it if I want to see what else they have to say. Sadly, I do the same thing when Sen. Clinton speaks. She makes me feel horrible, just like Fox News. Too bad it turned out this way.

14. I thought this was the best speech I had heard from Hillary...
and I am an Obama supporter. I thought there was just a tinge of conciliation in her speech. She knows that she must win on Tuesday. She realizes that this race may finally be coming to an end. Obama also, it seemed to me, was a little more sedate tonight and is ready for this race to end. They were both very good tonight.

21. I just got home from the J J
And I kind of agree with your assessment. Hillary gave a good speech, a little muted and more conciliatory in tone. I thought at some points that Obama was mailing it in, but rallied at the end. I say that as an Obama supporter.

Looking at them both, they are BONE tired, it shows a lot more in person.

27. You're right that they're tired, but most of Obama's speech was a complete rewrite. It was almost
all new so his delivery was slower. When he used a chunk from past speeches he would get back in his usual delivery.

This speech was even quite different than the one from just two nights ago at the NC J-J dinner. It's obvious he hasn't got it down yet and he's still rewriting it. For tomorrow's events I'm sure he'll go back to the speech he's been using for the past week in Indiana and NC but the one tonight is probably the first draft of his Tuesday night speech.

He might not win here in Indiana, but I am sure he will win it all in the end.

it was a "good speech" is to say her acting was better. Thank you.

18. he hollered more
I don't like the hollering. The attacks on Clinton looked petty. I guess the new strategy is to smear Clinton as akin to republicans.

There was also the attack on Democrats for their 'politics' at the time we were fighting republicans tooth and nail. More of the delusion that we can just negotiate our way past republican obstructionists. Not very inspiring.
