Thom Hartmann was talking about this today in the context of uniting the party.

Say more things like this, Hillary and Obama.

1. With emphasis on the quotation marks.
I'm not expecting much.

2. I didn't mean it that way. It's an actual quote.
I have No delusions that the "Democrats" at Democratic Underground will ever unite.

Unlikely at best.

5. Maybe a quick, forgettable speech at the convention.
I bet that's it.

4. Does anybody believe Hillary will really support Obama?

"You know that guy that me and my Republican attack squad have been trashing for months??
Well, forget everything I said about him, because he's really a swell guy!!"

8. I think she'll have to --
Too many big name Dems have cited her campaign tactics, and stated they felt her campaign was dividing the Party. If she doesn't want to be an outcast when she returns to the Senate (if she doesn't win the nom), she'll have to mend some fences.

7. Clinton has absolutely convinced me of her toughness. She's so tough she'll obliterate millions....
... and destroy a party, and give jillions away to oil companies, just to be President. She's convinced me that she's the toughest person in the race. Far too tough for me to even consider voting for.

9. Speaking of Thom Hartmann....
He was the speaker at a county Democratic affair that I attended on Saturday. His entire talk was on how we all have to be united in November. By the time he was done, I felt like a little kid who was being scolded for not playing fairly. Sorry, but he really needs to tell Hilary that she's the one who is playing dirty! I came away with a less than good impression about his talk. I don't know what I expected, but a stern scolding certainly wasn't what I had in mind. I guess his function now is to lecture to the two factions. The more I hear about how we have to unite, the angrier I get, and the less inclined I am to go that route. I hate feeling this way.
