The Rev. Wright 'issue' again and again and again here in the DU
'I worry that the neo-cons will destroy Senator Obama with the Rev. Wright issue.'

Oh really? So why post the topic if you think it can harm Sen. Obama?

'I promise to support the Democratic nominee no matter who it is.'

Sure ya do. Any plans on when this support will comence?

And before you go crying foul on the technicality that he has not yet gotten the nomination, please tell us why you believe so strongly that Senator Obama WON'T get that nomination. Obviously you must believe that he can NOT get the nomination because you post this topic.

Do you, like the right wing, choose to tie this topic around Senator Obama's neck as a boat anchor????? Good way to show support for the likely Dem nominee!

What about all the real boat anchors that could be tied around Senator mCcain???

What about that war vote thingy? Bigger or smaller boat anchor?

What about 4-8 more years of politics as usual? Bigger or smaller boat anchors?

Who has the biggest base with corporatism? Bigger or smaller boat anchors?

What about that pinch most of America feels in their wallets right now? Will 'politics as usual' bring about change-the kind of change that the American electorate wants or do you REALLY think that they will overlook the economic devastation that bush has created and dwell on a few Rev. Wright speeches played over and over and over and over and over and over.....

The Wright issue is the WRONG issue with the voters who want change...that'd be most of us.

The Wright issue is the WRONG issue when it comes to the voters who are sick of the way things are going in the Middle East... this too would be most of us.

The Wright issue is the WRONG issue when it comes to the economic harm which currently devastates America....this pinch is being felt STRONGLY by: MOST OF US!!!

I dunno, you could join 'most of us' (We The People) ...or you could, you know...dwell on the Wright issue like the corporate controlled MSM and Joe Scarborough, Sean Hannity, Tweety, Oriely, Limbaugh, Coulter and etc. etc. etc. You are of course welcome to draw your own conclusions from the likes of these folks, you are of course welcome to post their spin on stuff here if you like...you are equally able 'to show support for the Democratic nominee no matter who it may be' too....STARTING NOW!

I am through with wondering why folks would worry over this as an issue in the face of what I happen to feel are the REAL ISSUES. PEOPLE ARE STARVING WORLDWIDE!!! PEOPLE ARE DIEING OVER IN THE MIDDLE EAST BECAUSE OF OUR FIASCO WAR!!! DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA IS BEING DESTROYED FROM WITHIN BY CORPORATISTS!!!! OUR VETS NEED OUR HELP!!! OUR MILITARY IS IN SERIOUS DECLINE!!!! OUR GOVERNMENT HAS INVADED A COUNTRY TO STEAL IT'S RESOURCES!!! OUR GOVERNMENT IS THREATENING NUCLEAR WAR WITH IRAN!!!!

No, don't even bother responding before asking yourself which issues to you are MOST important! They don't even have to be the ones I feel are pretty critical right now. There are surely others served up by the bush-cons that can be added to your own IMMIDIATE ATTENTION NEEDED list! If you feel that the Rev Wright issue is worthy of being kept afloat in the face of that introspection then please PLEASE place me on ignore.

I am sorry that this makes me angry...I was just starting to feel good that American Idol's ratings are way down...it is perhaps, an indicator that Americans are starting to wake up! Now that they are trying to get a grip on what is being done to them maybe, just maybe, it is a good time to NOT keep them distracted with a Terry Shiavo style non-issue.... let it die in peace... OK?

1. Obama has no cojones
He began to feel the rage of the right-wing noise machine, and his performane left a lot to be desired. He's very soft. Kerry was Hulk next to him.

What kind of 'cojones' does it take to run a Presidential campaign so unlike any that has been run in this nation in modern times????

mods: Thank You for that thing you do. on edit: Speaking of doing that thing you do, I dedicate this to you mods for keeping things somewhat sane around here with your wonderful granite cookies:

4. And you started another OP on it because?
To use your Terry Shiavo analogy, you just fed the Rev Wright issue some water.

And I guess I just dribbled some drops, too.

Let it go.

Wait. There's nothing to grab onto Rev. Wright. Dismiss it already.

(I know we're saying the same thing. Let's just agree to not bring it up anymore. It's boring.)

6. Nopity...I wrote in anger due to the fact that it WAS being brought up!
I suppose I could provide links but truth be told I am not into calling folks out. (Actually this post started out being a response to one of those threads from a couple of hours earlier but grew into something I felt needed to be said to MORE than the OP.

OTOH: Apparently you and others here are NOT seeing THOSE threads so much lately....I would qualify that as a good sign...a very good sign indeed.
