Drudge: Hillary Insiders Fear 15 Point Loss in NC
Hillary Clinton's inner circle now fears a stinging defeat is likely in North Carolina.

"Look, we worked hard and gave it our best shot, but the demographics, well, they are what they are," a top campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT as voting began Tuesday morning.

The campaign now believes a 15 point loss, or more, would not be surprising. Her team will work hard Tuesday to lower all expectations.

The state had been seen by Clinton insiders as the senator's last shot to seriously jolt the system and overshadow the math. With 115 delegates at stake, North Carolina posed an uphill battle for Clinton.

Obama easily carried the region in earlier voting, topping Clinton in Maryland by 23-points; Virginia by 29, South Carolina 28 and Georgia 36.

The campaign hopes media attention will stay fixated on the closer competition in Indiana, where 72 delegates are on the line.

Take Drudge for what he's worth, but news is news.

1. He's just repeating Zogby
http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1499

The pair of surveys of the Democratic presidential contests shows Obama with a significant 14-point lead in North Carolina, winning 51% support to Hillary Clinton’s 37%. Another 12% said they were either favoring someone else or were as yet undecided. In Indiana, the race is clear as mud, as Obama holds a statistically insignificant lead of two points, winning 45% support to Clinton’s 43% support, with 12% either undecided or favoring someone else.

10. It doesn't mean that sometimes he is not right. I have read him
for years and found one thing, like it or not, he's got inside
info on elections - hell he used to post exits.

He's a dipshit, right wing tool, but he's got connections
for information.

3. wonder where each will be tonight. that tells you something. I
think also, the "lowering expectations game" as a ploy is passe. I could really tell
just from watching O's team on PA election day -- they new it was a lost cause. Too
many people out there in the media to all feign and know they are going to win but
act like they are not.

5. drudge (with able assist from Clinton "insider") has raised the bar on Obama
Edited on Tue May-06-08 05:54 AM by DemsUnited
the last few primaries and Obama ends up with terrible spin by the MSM as a result. I personally DO NOT believe that Obama will win by 15 points in NC. 5 - 10 points, yes. 15 is just setting him up to lose the expectations game.

22. All Hillary has to do now is get 86% of the vote in all six of the remaining contests
and she'll win it fair and square!

77-point or more margin of victory = blowout

72 - 76 points = a "real" win

40 - 71 points = good, but not good enough

11 – 39 points = a wash

5 - 10 points = useless

1 - 4 points = concession speech

:headbang:

17. Polls were all WRONG!!! RCP NC Avg was O +8.0 lol.
Edited on Tue May-06-08 07:57 PM by IamyourTVandIownyou
Poll Date Sample Obama Clinton Spread
RCP Average 04/28 - 05/05 -- 50.0 42.0 Obama +8.0
Insider Advantage 05/05 - 05/05 774 LV 47 43 Obama +4.0
Zogby Tracking 05/04 - 05/05 643 LV 51 37 Obama +14.0
SurveyUSA 05/02 - 05/04 810 LV 50 45 Obama +5.0
PPP (D) 05/03 - 05/04 870 LV 53 43 Obama +10.0
Rasmussen 05/01 - 05/01 831 LV 49 40 Obama +9.0
Research 2000 04/29 - 04/30 500 LV 51 44 Obama +7.0
Mason-Dixon 04/28 - 04/29 400 LV 49 42 Obama +7.0

But those networks sure like to push bogus polls.

I think that any Pollster that misses by more than the Margin or Error, should be automatically banned from polling the next race. That would make them get fairer samples.

24. Amazing all the people who regularly trash Drudge, if he was really wrong all the
time like people here scream every time his name comes up (In addition to all the gay jokes thrown in), no one would read him.

He obviously doesn't and he is one of the top destinations on the internet.
