I just voted in Indiana and for what time I was there I NEVER saw anyone choose to vote on the Republican ticket. You had to declare by selecting a card Democratic or Republican and I did not see a single person pick up a Republicans card.

I take this to mean only one thing GOP voters are trying to play spoilers and most likely voted for Hillary!

My area is primarily republican as is pretty much of any White Indiana district so what are the odds that only true Democrats are voting?

Oh well at least I tried to offset the GOP spoilers and I did my tiny little part.

1. Meh. Even a 10% clinton win won't change anything. EOM

6. but in a general, Obama is tied with McCain for Indiana at this time
that's pretty amazing to me. It would be sweet if the state went blue before I move!

2. That's hard to say...
I know three Republicans who will vote for Obama.

I know two more who voted for Edwards.

Hard to say, but I'm happy to see all come into the Democratic light.

3. Lake Country, Marion Country and the Bloomington area are seeing
record turnout. These three areas are beating the rest of the state in turnout and those are Obama Counties.

5. does that include early voters?
I'm glad to hear this. I've done some calling and volunteering, but I am waiting for a repair person right now.

4. I'm in Bloomington
and the polling place (which moved this year) was pretty quiet when I was there. I'd say there was a a 70/30 split to democratic machines. -- which seems pretty normal where I am. Ever since 2000, sadly, I no longer even trust whether my vote counts, but I continue to do so.

I do know A LOT of Obama supporters here did early voting. What surprised me was how few people were there. I usually have to stand in line but this was quick.

8. But when this happened in Nevada, it was reflective of the politics of hope.
Many crossovers won't be with us during the general election. It's no less true today than it was in January when Obama was benefitting from it.

9. Two things: first, you don't know for whom they are voting in the Dem primary
and second, you don't know if they are voting to screw up the Dems or because they want to vote for a Democrat.

There really is no way for us to know the answers to these questions. Unless everyone who participated in Operation Chaos were to publicly admit they were doing so, we won't know. Rush really won't be able to take credit for anything...

11. Once operation chaos went into efffect, the Republican split went from 70-30 Obama to 50-50
there has definitely been a sharp trend to Clinton after the GOP finished their primary.

15. We don't know if it "went into effect." There is no proof. We just don't know.
You may be right but what I am saying is that we can't verify it. Rush can "say" and his callers can "say" all they want, but we won't/can't know for sure.

Besides, this is a waste of our time. We shouldn't let Rush Limbaugh get hold of us this way. That's what he wants because he is such an egomaniac. We ought to be sharpening our knives against McCain. I am already preparing LTTEs on a number of different topics, such as health care and GI benefits, to get voters to see what McCain really stands for. Let's use our energy on that...

in Bloomington, 12,000 people already voted before today (and most of those are expected to go to Obama)

18. this is why proportional delegate allocation makes sense.
And also allocating differing numbers of delegates to different counties based on past years' history of democratic voting. It blunts the Limbaugh effect a little....at least in the delegate count.

19. I think that many Republicans are genuinely disgusted with their party.
I'm sure that some people are attempting to mess with the Democratic primary, but I think that many others are genuinely interested in voting Democratic - some for the first time in their lives.

My very conservative co-worker and her mother changed their party affiliation from Republican to Independent and voted for Obama here in NC. I'm hoping that they will continue to support Obama in the general election. I think they're planning to do so!
