2004 total votes in NC and IN primaries
As we all wring our hands over dissension in the ranks, I think it helps to see the difference in the level of excitement and participation this year vs. four years ago. It'll be interesting to compare these totals to the totals we get from both states this evening.

2004 Indiana democratic primary vote: 317,211
2004 Indiana republican primary vote: 469,528

2004 North Carolina democratic primary vote: 17,420
2004 North Carolina republican primary vote: 0

Also, please note how NC republican voters were disenfranchised that year. :nopity:

1. NC primary didn't mean anything in 2004 for the Presidential election. Kerry was already decided.

2. The point is I think we need to remember how much more
the public is involved this time. So many more are paying attention and getting involved this time, and much as I hate to say it, we owe that to Hillary. BTW, Kerry lost to Edwards in the NC primary. I hadn't remembered that.

I also just enjoy little factoids like this. Guess I'm curious how many republicans in IN vote on either side today.

3. Early voting showed what 300,000?
I can't remember, it was either 300,000 or 600,000 for the Dems. Wow!
