Does not swill white wine with the elite...
ok what the fuck does this mean?

Look folks it WAS the GOP who used these talking points for over twenty years, starting with Ronnie Reagan... (Latte drinking, volvo driving, elite liberal) and now we have our OWN party doing this?

Are they fugging nuts?

There are days I just want to throw the towel. They are trying to out GOP the GOP talking points!

By the way, I am a birkie wearing, latte drinking, hybrid driving Latte Liberal with a COLLEGE degree... and I don't LIKE either of the candidates...

Damn, talk about taking gun. loading it, cocking it, pulling the hammer back, aiming at foot, and firing.

:shakes head: Cannot really understand this.

By the way... NONE of the candidates is a common man (or woman) Wesley, Harvard and Annapolis do not make a common man's education... I expect the pretension from the ring knocker, not the other two.

Oh and by the way... making 20+ million a year is not a common, every day salary either....

Definitely I am DISGUSTED. I mean are they trying hard to SUPPRESS the vote in November with these kinds of comments and snobbery?

2. No, it's all about perception...
...whether someone can relate to a candidate or not...Bush was seen as more down-to-earth than Al Gore. Not by me, but there you have it.

3. I smell desperation from the Smugness camp ...
Caputo, Mrs. Greenspan, even too-much-cappuccino McAuliffe this a.m. ...
They know this could all very well be over tonight, and they're throwing
the last pieces of the kitchen sink at Obama as they leave ...

No TAP! x( It offends the senses.

And merlot is fabulous... cooking with it will still get you into the elite club. You've just got to use it liberally. :hi:

now OUR candidates.

:shakes head:

I mean I have that elite college education and do like my latte from time to time, even if I have to brew it myself these days... can't afford to go out for it

in Mexico City and had lunch. He had a capucino for desert, with amaretto. It looked good. I just don't drink

34. Well sue me.... if we take advantage to go to the museum every time
we go down there, or at least try

Next year we will try to get the kids to go to... I mean you have to train the little tykes early you know

Hmm.. perhaps order a cappuccino for them too... just decaf

:-)

Now on a very serious note, my parents live down there... and I grew up down there. Funny, how going to a museum is not seen as an elite thing to do down there

Hell, kids go in free

35. *I* don't view it as "elite." Museums at the LA Exposition Park...
...were free during the week when I was a subteen-teen. My friend and I would take the bus (through Watts, mind you) to go there at least once a week. We couldn't have gone if they weren't free.

18. Lisa Caputo makes me want to throw a brick through my TV.
I don't often cheer for Tweety, but when he reminded her that she went to Brown...

Seriously, though, I am SO sick of this attempt to paint someone from a background similar to my own as some sort of effete wealthy person, when the opponent actually grew up more comfortably and has many more millions of dollars to her name now than he does.

19. It's older than that
We were Limousine Liberals in the 60s. The rantings of streetcorner Birchers are mainstream rhetoric now. And a good chunk of "our side" internalized it long ago, bless their pig-ignorant DLC hearts.

I can have a beer with my friends. I want a president who can RUN THE COUNTRY.

Is that so wrong????

25. I've long ago come to the conclusion that the media wants to be able to have a beer
with the candidate or president or whatever office holder. Rubbing elbows is access for them, and they could care less about anything but putting on a show.

Policy is hard and scary, makes us feel small and stupid. But we DO know when someone's too big for their britches, by gum. We're citizens of the Greatest Nation on Earth, we know what we're doing. So shaddup.

28. FDR was not a man I'd like to have a beer with
trust me, he wasn't

Neither was truman

Or Kennedy

Or LBJ

The closest ever to that title was not even Ronnie Reagan, though he came close

That was Ike

Reality is NO president is gonna have a beer with you

As to the greatest nation on earth... I'd argue that point at this point in history

Ah Rome... comes to mind, around 400 CE
