How ironic. Now Hillary has to stay in the race so that Obama won't be humiliated by
losing West Virginia and Kentucky to a candidate who isn't even running.

6. Obama has virtually no support in the Appalachian regions
... among poor, undereducated whites.

16. That is true, at this point
In every state where Obama campaigns, his numbers get better. Though he lost by 10%(?) in PA, he was down by 25% at one time. His numbers will improve. However, uneducated people oftern vote Republican. Anybody have funds to send me to teach history in the Appalachian region for a few months?

3. The way to fix that is for her to drop out now and throw her full, enthusiastic support to Obama.

4. so ridiculous...
I despise most of the MSM, that's why I don't watch.

What's fricking HILARIOUS about all this is, BARACK puts soooooooooooooooooo many states in play that she does NOT, against McCain, and the few that she does better in against John, are far fewer than what he puts in play - she gets creamed in Colorado for example, he beats McCain there for example. TEXAS of all places has him within like 5 points, she trails McCain by like 20...

She's an EGOMANIAC if she doesn't drop out Thurs....

She had to make NC close, and DID NOT! She had to win IN by a good margin and may NOT even win by 1%!

7. Actuall, Kos said the same thing.
Not humiliation so much, just would look like more of a protest vote than it might actually be (my interpretation).

12. It's not a crazy insight
Especially if Clinton stays focused on a very positive campaign going forward into those contests. If Obama becomes the nominee and one takes Clinton at her word, she will be a critically important campaigner for Obama in the fall in States where she has been strong. If she can connect with those voters, make them feel like it is Democrats who are listening to them, she will be a more effective advocate for Obama later.

And to touch a delicate subject, it could help prevent the wrong racial message from being harped on by the media if Obama loses to an active White candidate in those states rather than to someone who has already withdrawn from the race.

15. Hillary needs to drop and then campaign heavily in KY and WV for Obama to "educate" those voters....

17. It would mean much more...
... for her to win their trust as their candidate, then throw her support to Obama having already won their votes. Coming in to "educate" voters - especially those who are undereducated - will alienate them. Winning their support and then bringing them along for the Democratic ride in the general election might ultimately be more helpful.

The $64K question, of course, is whether Clinton will run a clean campaign from now through KY and WV, or if we'll have more of the nastiness that has characterized the campaign to date. If she runs it cleanly and aims at McCain and the Republicans, she'll do more good than harm. If she dredges up more petty stuff like Rev. Wright and the Weathermen, the Democrats would be much better off having her bow out now.
