If you extrapolate 75/25 with 28% reporting and a 18521 vote lead,
he'll gain about +48,000 extra on top of that in that district.

That's good, considering almost all of Hillary's strongholds are at 99% or 100% reporting.

Edited on Tue May-06-08 10:57 PM by bushmeat
28 pct in which counts to 27500 votes means 98000 votes cast
70500 votes to count and if 72 pct go for obama thats 50760 votes for obama

It's gonna be a squeaker but Lake started with Obama's best, the 75/25 margin will definitely narrow.

35. Let's see if my math is right...
28% reporting so far (11:55 EDT)
37461 votes counted
37461 / .28 = 133,789 total votes in Lake County
133,789 - 37,461 = 96,328 votes remaining to be counted
20,000 vote deficit for Obama to catch Clinton
58,328 Obama + 38,000 Clinton = 96,328
58,328 Obama - 38,000 Clinton = 20,000 vote deficit erased
58,328 / 96,328 = 60.6% required for remaining votes

Or just watch CNN and let them tell me! But I am getting pissed off at this smug mayor from Hammond, IN who is trying to get the conspiracy buffs fired up on the Lake-County-is-withholding-votes-because-they're-rigging-it-for-Obama.

37. That is a holy shit moment
That's Gary, which is about right for Obama.

The rest of Lake County has yet to come in.

The county is known for it's corruption ... so if Obama takes it there, someone will cry foul.

Here's the deal on that possible charge - the suburban and rural Lake County votes were the ones held
back until the very final moment.

Anyone remember Hackett's special election in 2005 - how he lost at the very end when Clermont County
had a humidity crisis and Schmidt (R) pulled ahead at the very end.

Whoever reports last is to be questioned - so it's rural and suburban Lake Cunty that need to be questioned.

47. Well,
CNN says that Gary has reported & that's the 28% that's in right now. According to CNN, NONE of the votes have come in yet from the rest of the county. So it's actually the reverse, urban Gary votes are in, but the votes from the rural/small towns haven't come in at all yet. It's weird, IMO.
