What Obama demonstrated last night is why he'll be the nominee.
He needed to show that he could survive week after week of highly negative MSM coverage. And he did. He made IN so close that it was almost as good as a win for him. Not quite as good, of course, but his 14 pt win in NC combined with his 2 pt loss in IN, will be enough to reassure uncommitted SDs who have been looking to see if he could survive wall to wall Wright.

I don't expect Hillary to drop out before June 3. I think she'd much prefer to go out with a couple of big wins, but it's effectively over. There is no way the SDs will deny Obama the nomination now. And they won't wait long to endorse. Expect quite a few big endorsements in the next few days.

No one can say Hillary didn't fight for this with every fiber of her being, but in the end it wasn't enough. I have no doubt that she'll vigorously support Obama when she leaves the race.

Obama needs only about 40 more pledged delegates to reach the Pelosi number. He needs only 183 total delegates to get to 2024. It's just about time to focus on beating John McCain. And yes, Obama can do it.

4. You really can't know how much of an impact Rush voters had.
But that's not the point of my OP. Both Obama supporters and those who will vote for him in November should feel heartened by his ability to survive the kind of onslaught he got over Wright.

7. Based on MATH, it's a really safe bet that they put Clinton over the top.

9. HRC won nearly 3:1 among voters who said they wouldn't vote for X again in the Fall*
*according to NYTimes exit polling.

Was about 15% of HRC's vote, about 5% of BHO's vote...

In other words, I completely agree with you.

Here's the relevant exit poll data from Indiana

3. whatever it was, it wasn't the win Hillary so desperately needed.
A week or so ago, I posted a much commented on thread saying that if Obama only won by a few points in NC and Clinton won by 8+ points in Indiana, Obama was in trouble. The opposite is also true. And again, that he did this well in the face of non-stop negative coverage, speaks volumes.

6. IN was a win for Obama. What is with the "not quite as good?"
But for the Limbaugh voters Obama would have won. Since when should they be considered valid votes?

8. She will be out by the week of May 20th if not sooner
After last night, she and her party supporters finally get the message that it's not helpful to hurt our nominee and continue to divide the party. With their speeches last night, Hillary and Barack have already started to change their tone and begin taking baby-steps towards bringing the party back together.
