Clark spokesman: No Clinton call
A spokesman for General Wes Clark, Erick Mullen, this morning denied reports that the staunch Clinton supporter had called her last night and pushed her to drop out.

"General Clark has been on business travel and certainly did not make any such call to Senator Clinton," Mullen said.

1. I don't see General Clark as being the type to jump ship
Or cave into pressure just to be behind a frontrunner. If he supported Hillary, then I think he believes she would be best for the job. I certainly don't think he's the type to withdraw support for political gain. Not his style.

4. I think Clark camp wants Clark on Obama's short list and floated the idea.
Won't be happening though, no matter what. The LAST thing Obama needs is a VP pick starring in GOP ads against him for 5 months.

6. Yeah all they have to say is "roll the tape"
and go back to his "obama is not prepared to be..." (Which is not to say that I wouldn't LOVE clark as a pick otherwise, I just think there may be too much from his own words that could be thrown back at him and obama)

9. Clark said nothing 1/10th as disrespectful toward Obama
than Bush Sr's "Voo Doo Economics" slam at Ronald Reagan, and look where that led him.

12. Clark has the standing and integrity to put his 4 Stars on the line
And be has the fighting spirit to tear apart any commentator who suggests that an endorsement by him of Obama is inconsistent with his true beliefs about keeping America safe. Clark does not shy away from a fight when it comes to defending his own or any other Democrat who he endorses patriotism, willingness, and ability to defend America..

16. The General is a good Dem and a patriot.
I have absolute trust in him and in the integrity of his actions. While I did not agree with the General in his initial choice of candidates, I also think that his dedication to the country would make him an excellent VP for the Dem nominee.

Frankly, if Clark does end up as a VP for Obama I will be overjoyed.

7. That's true--I think Clark unwisely took himself out of the VP running.

15. Clark is inconsequential. There are other, more respectable retired generals out there to
be in Obama's administration.
