Jimmy Carter on Leno: My Family Supports Obama
Edited on Wed May-07-08 11:04 PM by NYDem Observer
Just said his entire family is for Obama, his 4 kids and their spouses, and his 11 grandkids.

But he is undecided until after the primaries are over.

Methinks he is an Obama guy. :-)

2. Compare old guy Carter with old guy McCain.
I won't say old has nothing to do with it, but Carter could be an extremely effective president again. The guy is amazing.

4. He was a lot better president than people think...
Honestly he gets a bad rap because of the Iran hostage crisis... It infuriates me the way people have stereotyped and slimed his legacy as president.

7. Agree. If we had stayed on the course he set, we'd be much better off now.
His energy initiatives were gutted and reversed by the Reagan hoodlums. They also did everything they could to screw with what he accomplished in the Middle East. Many of the same idiots who derailed Carter's good work also derailed Clinton's good work.

I think he's one of the most admirable world figures of the past 50 years.

9. I think it was more than the hostage thing.
A couple months ago, I actually met someone that is still pissed about having to drive 55 mph.

13. He also saw Peak Oil coming...
and had the nerve to try and put Americans on an energy diet.

8. Just saw McCain on the daily show
Contrasted with Carter on Leno, President Carter has more personality in his pinky toe than McCain has period.

5. I'm Black and it's kinda nice in a way for HC's crowd
to stick the "'elite, latte" type labels on him.

And it certainly not true but at least they throw in the old standards but add the latte stuff.

It's all so crazy.
