2. Imagine if Obama said...
"working, hard-working Americans, black Americans."

There would be outrage if Obama said this. The double standard is clear and it is evident.

10. that is
exactly what political analysts and pundits have been talking about for the last few months (on both sides), how Hillary has lost the support of African Americans in her primary contests. She's been losing 80/20, 85/15, and even 90/10 with regards to black voters based on exit polls. The voting gap of African Americans is a huge reason why Hillary has been much weaker than expected. It is undeniable.

I agree with the sentiment that Hillary worded it poorly and a candidate probably shouldn't be talking about race when it comes to voting results. It can always get sticky. Leave that to the surrogates and pundits.

with saying things that would have sank Obama long ago.

7. Spoken like a true loser.
And that's exactly what she is now - precisely because of bullshit like this.

If she and her fellow DINO husband are never heard from politically again, it'd be too soon for me. They've done enough in collusion with the GOP to destroy what the Democratic Party is supposed to stand for, and it warms my heart to know that FINALLY, those of us with principles are taking it back.

Have fun being a pariah to the left, Zellary.

9. HRC exact quote - She is beyond redemption after this
Edited on Thu May-08-08 01:31 AM by autorank

"There was just an AP article posted that found how Senator Obama's
support among working, hard working Americans, white Americans is weakening
again. I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on."

Here's why you're right, it is racist and it's reminiscent of her earlier smears
against Obama.

1) Why cite what you cause, erosion of support after massive race baiting using Rev. Wright,
and then call it Obama's problem with whites The networks and the Clinton's pushed this hard. Now
they're talking about "white Americans" not voting for Obama. 10% of the nation is black,
a larger percent of the Democratic party is black but not near a majority. Where is he getting
the votes - white people - I see white people voting for Obama. Chicken #..t race baiting with
plausible deniability.

2) " ... support among working, hard working Americans, white Americans" - When asked about a
HRC - McCain race, Bill Clinton said:

"I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who love this
country and were devoted to the interest of this country, and people could actually ask themselves,
who's right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on
our politics." Bill Clinton, Mar. 21 North Carolina
(From: http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0803/S00475.htm)

Different content, same rhetorical device. It's really disgusting but the implication, again with
plausible deniability, that whites are the "hard working Americans."

This is too disgusting. It's the Nixon Southern strategy, all dressed up, delivered by Hillary
Clinton.

Do these people know no shame?

And also, this is a betrayal of her supporters, the overwhelming majority of whom would never support
such sentiments but get tied into defending "The Clinton" because they simply can't believe that
she's doing this.

20. Thanks!
Just re read it. I feel very strongly about that. In fact, when all the everything that comes out
about Bush comes out, we need to realize that those who supported him through most, not all, of his
term were victims of the BIG LIE media. There are about 12% pure zealots in the country but the
rest who supported Bush are good people. They've come over already and need to be welcomed.

As in this;)

We're sick of your race baiting. Sick of you toeing the corporate line. Sick of your lies and parsing of words. Sick of your divisiveness. Sick of you playing the victim. Sick of you using the gender card. I wish you would take a hint and end the madness.

I speak for my husband who would use much worse language to describe you. He could speak for himself but he is out of town on business-away from his family-working hard.

35. Read THIS topic to understand what she was saying:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5896190

I checked her old speeches. The "hard working" wording is her standard substitute for the words "working class," which I could not find in any of the speeches I checked. I provided a link and quotes from those speeches.

Also a link to the AP story she was referring to. She was simply mentioning a news story about specific voter demographics.

She was NOT race-baiting.
