It's time to step back and take a deep breath...
We have been slugging it out for months now. The fight is nearing the end. If we do not respect our opponents, then we will tarnish the victory. Just as Senator Obama has said, Hillary can stay in as long as she wants. She's a fighter. She does not give up easily. That is to be admired - not criticized. We will have a nominee in the next few weeks and the battle will be over.

To continue the negative attacks does not reflect poorly on our opponent, it reflects poorly on us personally. Sometimes we just need to step back and get another perspective on the battleground. We should do so in a civil and respectful manner. It is very difficult to put everything you have into any endeavor and then not succeed. It is painful. It takes time to recover. This is what Al Gore went thru after the debacle of 2000. He simply withdrew and grew a beard and put on some weight. It is not easy to run for public office, especially President of the United States.

Perhaps it is time to step back and let the situation now resolve itself. Most of the people have already spoken. We should want all the people to have the right to speak with their votes. Once that happens, we will count them and declare a winner. I congratulate all DUers for fighting the good fight. Now it is time to join hands and fight the Bush Republicans in November.
