Clinton's hardline view on outsourcing were not against India
8 May, 2008, 1541 hrs IST, PTI

WASHINGTON: Democratic Presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton's recent hardline stance on outsourcing were mainly directed against China rather than India, her top aide has said.

"Her primary language has been directed towards China. Obviously, she talks about China all the time. I've never heard her in fairness, talk about (outsourcing) in the context of India," Terry McAuliffe, Chairman of Hillary Clinton's campaign and one of her closest confidant said in an interview to 'India Abroad' newspaper.

"... We are going to rid the tax code of these loopholes and giveaways. We're going to stop giving a penny of your money to anybody who ships a job out of Texas, Ohio or anywhere else to another country," Clinton had said during a recent debate with Obama at University of Texas in Austin.

McAuliffe, the former Chair of the Democratic National Committee also brushed aside the notion that Clinton was pandering to the labour unions on the issue of outsourcing.

"What she has said, is she will negotiate, she wants trade deals, she thinks they are important to build bilateral economic relationships. She will negotiate fair, but tough trade deals. She is a full believer that we've got to build jobs here, in this country," he said.

He said: "We've got to be competitive, but if people can come in or people that can bring products in and if it's a better product at a better price, then we have to be competitive, and that's not the fault of the country that's bringing it in.

Nice to hear that Terry McAuliffe is reassuring India.

she has facilitated a direct transfer of wealth from American tech workers to both India and corporate America

She has make jobs of the future a thing of the past in the blink of an eye

for all of this incredible wealth created by American tech workers, not even ONE generation of career to show for it - unbelievable when you think about it

9. Promise them anything
To get their vote, that's the Clinton way. To bad if she ever did get elected she would just continue on with outsourcing as usual! One thing I have learned during this primary, you can't believe anything Hillary says!

LOL

it really is a terrible statement about mainstream media, that she gets a total pass on this critical issue and betrayal - she says 'TA TA' to our jobs and the press looks the other way

http://www.thehollywoodliberal.com/2007/08/15/hillary-giving-our-jobs-to-india-getting-campaign-cash-back/

BUFFALO, N.Y. To many labor unions and high-tech workers, the Indian giant Tata Consultancy Services is a serious threat — a company that has helped move U.S. jobs to India while sending thousands of foreign workers on temporary visas to the United States…..

The 2003 announcement had clear benefits for the senator and the company: Tata received good press, and Clinton burnished her credentials as a champion for New York’s depressed upstate region.

But less noticed was how the event signaled that Clinton, who portrays herself as a fighter for American workers, had aligned herself with Indian American business leaders and Indian companies feared by the labor movement

8. How About This One:
Nielsen layoffs, tax breaks anger Oldsmar officials (TATA)

Published Tuesday, April 15, 2008 11:39 PM

OLDSMAR — City Council members expressed outrage Tuesday over the Nielsen Co.'s plans to eliminate 110 positions at their Oldsmar operation after accepting government money to create jobs.

"To think they have the gall to take taxpayers' money and then lay people off!" said council member Suzanne Vale. "I am so upset."

"It's just incomprehensible to me," agreed council member Janice Miller.

They were responding to news that Nielsen is outsourcing work to India-based Tata Consultancy Services after receiving at least $3.1-million in state and local subsidies mainly to create jobs in Oldsmar.

Tata, one of the world's largest providers of consulting and outsourcing services, has brought in its own workers from India.

And Nielsen, formerly known as Nielsen Media Research, says they have plans to restructure further.

The topic was raised by City Council members at the end of their regular Tuesday meeting.

Some members urged their colleagues to stay calm. Mayor Jim Ronecker reminded the council that outsourcing is a national trend.

"We can't tell them how to run their business," he said.

"No, but we can call a thief a thief when they take the taxpayers' money," said council member Greg Rublee.

17. Thanks for more solid proof of what is going on in this country.
Roseanne featured this exploitation on her TV show way back in the 1980's.

Companies get tax breaks and state and local money to put their company with its jobs into a ceratin town or city - and then low and behold, when they come up with a better idea financially, they take off.

Our workers here don't even have the protections of 90 to 180 days before a layoff notice can take effect.

HILLARY CLINTON (D-PUNJAB)’S
PERSONAL FINANCIAL AND POLITICAL TIES TO INDIA

The Clinton's have reaped significant financial rewards from their relationship with the Indian community, both
in their personal finances and Hillary’s campaign fund raising. Hillary Clinton, who is the co-chair of the
Senate India Caucus, has drawn criticism from anti-offshoring groups for her vocal support of Indian business
and unwillingness to protect American jobs. Bill Clinton has invested tens of thousands of dollars in an Indian
bill payment company, while Hillary Clinton has taken tens of thousands from companies that outsource jobs to
India. Workers who have been laid off in upstate New York might not think that her recent joke that she could
be elected to the Senate seat in Punjab is that funny.

...........

And the millions they have received from people like Vin Gupta and others!

Vin Gupta: The man the Clinton's love

Aziz Haniffa in Washington, DC | May 30, 2007

http://www.rediff.com/news/2007/may/30vin.htm

Vinod 'Vin' Gupta, 60, founder, chairman and CEO of infoUSA -- one of America's largest consumers of information with millions of clients -- is probably the single biggest contributor to the Democratic Party over the years.

He is a longtime Clinton benefactor, who has suddenly found himself thrust into the public domain in the wake of major articles in the New York Times and the Washington Post regarding his use of his company's private jet to fly the former President and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on personal, business and campaign trips.

........

Of course she is not going to "disown" her millionaire friends! Where the H do you all think she and Bill got their millions? Oh and let's not forget Dubai!

Jessee!! Wake the H up!!

the fact that he used his company's private jet to fly the former President and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on personal, business and campaign trips.

Wow.....Talk about owing "favors." :wow:
