True story, as a kid I remember the family gathered around the television to watch Elvis' live concert from Hawaii - during his show he gave the "i love you" sign to his fans and the cameras. My mother was so insulted, she said it was an evil sign, the horns of the devil or "bull shit" - she was from Texas, she knew what that hand sign meant. She made us turn the concert off.

That is what set me on my journey of discovery, I was determined to prove her wrong. I studied the AIL alphabet and some of the common signs, bought books and finally convinced her that Elvis was not the devil and had not cursed his fans.

It is a simple hand gesture/sign that means "i love you" - I have a lapel pin with that hand sign. ;)
