'I just voted for him on Tuesday" - John Edwards
When asked on the Today Show who he would eventually endorse, Edwards said "I just voted for HIM on Tuesday." He didn't give a full out endorsement, but he wasn't hiding his preference either.

32. EDWARDS DID NOT ENDORSE ANYONE TODAY
(Not directed at you, SharonRB - just getting to the top of the thread)

Please see post #25 below. He later clarified his remark - he said "'em" (gender neutral).

3. I would be more impressed if he made a more forceful statement
Although he might have been threatened by Hillary supporters, like Pelosi was.

6. No, it doesn't make sense that he would refer to them in plural.
One vote, one candidate--I really do think it was a slip on Edwards' part. Not counting chickens; it just doesn't make sense to say (or interpret) a plural there.

9. Not plural... Southern for the gender-neutral "them"...
there's no singular gender-neutral pronoun but "it", so... it has to be "them".

Makes sense to me, but... heh... well I'll just stop there. :P

20. I AM southern. It still doesn't make any sense to me.
I'd never refer to my having voted as "voted for 'em."

22. I'm about as hardcore southern as you'll find, and that makes no sense.
That's as bogus as non-southerners who (mistakenly) use "y'all" to refer to one person in an attempt to parrot the idiom.

I think it was simply a slip on Edwards' part.

25. Edwards makes clarification of his remark:
While at lunch, a TV was on. According to the scroll, Edwards clarified his statement.

Paraphrased: "I said 'em', as in gender neutral. It's a southern thing."

So as much as I would like him to have endorsed Obama, he did not.

Move on folks. Nothing to see here.

27. Did Edwards endorse Obama?
You'd better think about it before you respond, because John wants everyone to know that he isn't going to say anything that may give anyone any idea of what he was thinking about.

29. I have said this before, but isn't it possible that he voted for
himself. And I do love the fact that this man knows that if he speaks for his wife, it would get him in a complicated mess. He is so darn smart.
