From Donna Brazille, Al Gore's campaign manager and a stalwart of the Democratic Party
Brazille responded with frustration to a writer's threats of defection. "Honestly, this is the 9th email today," she wrote before 8:00 pm. "So I believe you're ready to not only destroy Roe versus Wade, voting rights, civil liberties and civil rights. Perhaps adding trillions more to the deficits through non-stop tax cuts to the wealthy and 100 more years in Iraq. Yes, please join Rush and McCain asap. The train has left. Catch it."

All threatening to vote for McCain. Certainly an orchestrated effort.

I can't blame Donna. I've been hearing the same thing from other SDs.

16. Why, because she is telling the truth right now?
If you want the end of Roe v Wade and four more wars, then indeed you have overstayed your welcome on this site

We have a nominee... PERIOD... and it is time you guys grow the fuck up and line up like the rest of us who have seen our candidates come and go... the Primary IS over... get it now?

I know math is not easy, and the end of a dream is hard... but you will have a choice... vote for the democratic nominee, or stay home... and continue to stomp yer feet like a small child

it is cute when my cockatiel or my three year old nephew does it... but it is pitiful to see adults doing it

19. Perhaps, but the substance of those who decide not to vote or defect still rings true
and mccain is far worse on abortion than even Roe V Wade

He endorsed the South Dakota anti-abortion bill which made it illegal to have an abortion even if the life of the Mother, incest, or rape were involved

58. Donna Brazile
Donna Brazile is a piece of work. I had a run in with her back in 1985 during "Hands Across America" I disagreed with her on how the route should be organized in a Maryland suburb and she told me I a was a racist. That is her answer to any white person who disagrees with her. By the way We lost in 2000 because Donna did not understand the depths to which the republicans would go to in order to regain the White House. It is the campaign managers job to determine and then set the tone of the campaign. it should have never come down to a recount in Florida. By the way Donna Brazile hasn't run a winning presidential campaign yet either. The republicans are vampires and until we learn to stab them in the heart with a wooden stake all of the elections will be to close for comfort.

However, I'm not going to work for him or donate to him or to the DNC or to any hateful blogs such as Buzzflash. It's not because my candidate has lost, it's because of the unfairness and vileness thrown her way. Besides, supposedly I represent the old guard and am not needed anyway.

I will put my efforts towards downstream contests.

49. So I look thru this thread. Why do HRC supporters HATE Donna Brazile so much?
so far we have:

  • "Donna Brazille--the hatchet woman for the DNC and Dean. Not credible."
  • "What a hack. Someone should fire her from the DNC. They won't get a cent from me until they do."
  • "Why would anyone hire this woman in a political job? No wonder Al lost. Her lights are on but nobody's at home."
  • "Donna Brazille is a JOKE"

So. Any HRC supporter wanna step up and give a reasoned criticism of Donna without the ad hominem attacks?
Or are ad hom's all you got? ( I know, I know, one must reject *and* denouce, got it)

55. Wrong
She's not even remotely neutral. She thinks that Obama should be the nominee, and there's nothing at all wrong with that. As far as "mistrust", she's not telling you anything that you'd have to take on faith so what does it matter if you trust her?

She's simply addressing those Hillary voters who threaten to vote for McSame if Hillary is not the nominee (and there are a ton of you out there), and she's telling them "I don't need your threats. If you're telling me that you'll vote Republican then you're a Republican. If you vote Republican then you are casting your vote for conservative politics, and you are saying that the words of Rush Limbaugh resonate with you more then the words of the Democratic nominee. And if that's what you believe, then have fun with that. You're not a Democrat."

And truly, if you vote Republican in this election then that's exactly what you are.

"You can't be what you were, so you better start being just what you are."

- Ian McKaye

74. I laugh at people of limited intellect who can fool *themselves* (but not other)
into believing their web of lies cannot be penetrated.

Donna Brazile is a dishonest, partisan hack today, she was a dishonest hack when she was appearing on CNN as a DNC "neutral" while campaigning for Obama, and she was especially a dishonest, partisan hack when she was arguing as a "neutral" to disenfranchize Florida and Michigan.

77. And I laugh at people...
... whose first inclination is always to spout the ad hominem because their actual argument is so week. Immediate ad hominem = red flag indicating "I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about."

And it's also a fallacy to call someone a "hack" just because they happen to believe in a different ideology. That's not the definition of hack.

As for your "disenfranchize" crap, you prove with this very point how little you understand the DNC and the process. It makes no difference though. Keep whining. Your candidate has lost. Spew as much venom as you'd like because it will make zero difference in the only debate that matters... the one which Hillary has lost.

the cuss words, gloating, and general abuse!

You are (nearly) as stunning an orator as Ms. Brazile--you sure had me fooled as to your motivation for starting this thread, but now I see you are merely interested in fairness, reasoned debate, and above all else, neutrality!

Of course, you would never engage in clumsy ad hominem attacks while decrying the same! If nothing else, you have a keen sense of irony!

Strictly out of a sense of fair-play, you see. Brazille's duplicity regarding her support for Obama was strictly a coincidence! :eyes:

Anyone who wouldn't vote against the Republican Party this year is a complete idiot. Or a troll spouting off nonsense, there are lots of those.

66. Here are some of the emails
Forwarded to me from a superdelegate.

I am a FLORIDA DEMOCRAT who always votes - I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR OBAMA - he does not support the right to vote - I WILL FOR THE FIRST TIME VOTE REPUBLICAN - THIS IS A PROMISE - FLORIDA WILL BE RED!!!!!

Dear Super Delegate,

Please Switch to Endorse Hillary Clinton. I am a=20
hard working get your hands dirty democrat and I=20
am writing to tell you I am one of the many who=20
will never ever vote for Sen Obama. I am from IL=20
and had to live through Sen Obama. I been through=20
my union trying to bully us into voting for Sen=20
Obama. I been through Sen Obama working for Rezko=20
to screw the elderly, the poor, and the African=20
Americans out of their homes. I been through all=20
of Sen Obama's "present" and "mistake" votes in=20
the IL senate. I been though Sen. Obama using=20
Rev. Wright to get his street credit to make a=20
run at the IL senate. I been through Sen Obama=20
challenging signatures on the nominating=20
petitions of state Sen. Alice Palmer to screw her=20
out of an election. I with good conscious can=20
never put America through that. With new=20
information arising of Sen Obama's dirty deals=20
with Blackwell it makes me even more worried for=20
this party to know they would parade the weaker=20
candidate out there. I am not big on Sen McCain=20
but if I must vote for the lesser of two evils=20
then my vote will go for Sen McCain. You can say=20
I am out to destroy Roe v Wade, voting rights,=20
civil liberties and civil rights but you would be=20
greatly wrong, I am out to save America. Believe=20
me I am fearful for this party and this country=20
and that is why I can never ever vote for Obama=20
and will switch to Independent before Nov. It is=20
not to late to save this party but does require=20
electing the stronger candidate for the=20
Democratic Party and that is Hillary Clinton.

That was obviously cut and pasted.

I urge you to switch your Convention voting pledge from Barack Obama to Clinton.MY ENTIRE FAMILY WHO HAVE ALWAYS VOTED REPUBLICAN THIS YEAR WANT TO VOTE FOR CLINTON. THIS IS AN UNBELIEVABLE TURN OF EVENTS FOR MY FAMILY. I HAVE ALWAYS VOTED DEMOCRAT IN THE PRIMARIES. FRIENDS OF THE FAMILY ARE IN UNISON WITH US. NONE OF US WILL BACK OBAMA NO MATTER WHO ELSE DOES. HE DOES NOT REFLECT OUR VALUES. CLINTON RUNNING IS NOT DIVIDING THE PARTY RATHER SHE IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE IN THE PARTY THAT WILL UNITE US. MORE CLINTON SUPPORTERS SAY THEY WILL NOT BACK OBAMA THAN THE OTHER WAY AROUND. WE ALL COLLECTIVELY WILL BACK MCCAIN HANDS DOWN IF CLINTON DOES NOT WIN THE NOMINATION. WE DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS BUT HE IS THE LESSER OF THE TWO EVILS (OBAMA/MCCAIN.)

Looks to me like you were forwarded some emails by some Republicans who would rather destroy the country by electing McSame then elect the first black man to the presidency. The "he does not reflect our values" quip is telling. Which values are those? I think that the underlying message is that "he does not reflect our <white> values." Yes, I am playing the "race card". No, I'm not ashamed to admit that. Yes, I do believe that many people in this country would "never cast a vote for Obama" based strictly on his race. I also believe many of these people to be too arrogant and self-righteous to ever admit their racism.

"Fear of a Black Planet".

Chuck D said it best.

And before this gets flamed, I do not believe for a second that anyone's support of Hillary means that they are a racist anymore then I believe that a woman supporting Hillary is a sexist, or that a man not supporting her is a sexist, or that black man supporting Obama is also a racist.

I merely believe that if you call yourself a Democrat, and you vote for McSame, the odds are pretty heavily weighted in the favor of "racist". It doesn't matter how unpopular this take. It's the truth.

75. No, I started this thread to quote someone who whined about emails.
"She whined. He quoted her. Therefore he whined."

Same reasoning as "Rev.Wright thinks it. He knows Rev.Wright. He thinks it."

It's hard to take some people seriously when they can't employ simple logic. A deductive reasoning 101 class should be as mandatory as a driver's ed class.

88. Jettison,
To that avail, an IQ test and a US Constitution test should been given before people are allowed to vote. Maybe then people like Brazile wouldn't cram unqualified, un-American candidates down our throats.
As she stated, and Obama supporters largely agree, you don't need white middle class voters or Latino voters to win. Don't be offended when they vote MC Cain then.
And just to clarify, he did more than "know Rev Wright", Obama personally gave the man credit for shaping his views, until they didn't fit his political need any longer.

90. Really?
Elistist much? People should need "an IQ test to vote". Wowzer. I pity that perception. There is nothing un-American about Obama, but there is plenty that is clueless and obviously classless about you if this post is any indication. I haven't read your others. You want to vote for McCain? Be my guest. You just labeled yourself a Repub. Our indeologies are too different to find common ground. I have to wonder why you'd even bother with a board like this. You're certainly not a Democrat. A racist? Probably.

And BTW, your little black and white world is small, almost infintile. The best revenge will come when that "un-American" candidate becomes our next President. I'm sure it will cause you endless frustration. I won't be shedding a tear for you.

etc.
etc.
etc.

Just another set of names to add to the Hillary "dead to me" list, I guess.

Geez -- I bet the "not dead" list is much shorter at this point.

And you call us the Kool-Aid drinkers. Can you say "projection"?

83. Civil liberties? Is this the same Donna Brazile
who told Howard Dean that including an LBGT platform in the DNC platform would be an affront to civil rights?

I am also getting sick of today's meme of people trying to bludgeon Hillary supporters with scare language about the Supreme Court. 1) We get it. 2) Why is it okay to do this, but it wasn't okay for Hillary to run an ad about national security?

She has not been neutral in this race, and, moreover, she was instrumental in stripping Michigan and Florida of all their delegates.

I'm laughing my ass off going through it and seeing their little tantrums and bitterness. It's from the exact small circle of groupies we all would have guessed months ago would be acting exactly like this. I'm glad the many, many cool Hillary supporters are better people than this sorry lot.
