Here on the campus of the University of Oregon, it is like a rock concert atmosphere. Crews are setting up scaffolding, platforms, lights and speakers. The rally will be right outside my office on the grass of the Memorial Quad. It is a beautiful sunny day here in Eugene. The campus street faire is also going on. I don't know when the line started forming, but it is getting pretty long now. Lots of energy - you can feel the buzz. It is a beautiful setting for a rally with the Art Museum and the Library as the backdrops along with all of the early flowers and blooming trees. Who knew that our late primary would count?

1. That's just like it was in Denver. And it was freezing cold. They
started lining up in the pitch black dark, waaayyy before the volunteers got there. Over 6 hours before it was supposed to start.

I would guess about 60 meters wide and 150 meters long, but there are also areas where the crowd could fan out on some other grassy corridors. I have attached a link to a map showing the quad between Prince Lucien Campbell Hall, the Art Museum and the Knight Library. It looks like the speaker's platform will be at the southern end of the quad so the crowd could stretch all the way to Lillis Hall on the north.

6. I was thinking about coming over
Does it look like it's going to be just crazy with people. Do you think I could arrive late and just stand somewhere way out of the way?

10. I would guess it will be crazy and packed
Obama packed Mac Court (9,000) earlier in the year and they had to turn many away. This is outside, so they will just pack them like sardines. The weather is getting nicer by the minute.

13. maybe, and you would have to park a loooooong ways away
There is never enough parking at UO and they have most of the available slots off limits so the press and security vehicles have a place to park. I imagine the buses will also be full. If you have a bike, throw it in your vehicle, park wherever you can and ride to campus.

14. My son used to run at Hayward Field
I remember the parking, yikes. I was thinking park somewhere and take a bus. My car is too little for bikes, and there would be 3 of us coming.

15. You might be able to park at Autzen Stadium
or Alton Baker Park then walk across the footbridges across the Willamette and onto campus.
