I love Terry McAuliffe. He's awesome.
You've got to give the guy credit. There aren't many people you can put out there who will peddle such obvious shit. I love watching his interviews, especially the recent ones. I encourage everyone to watch him and listen closely.

You'll notice that he doesn't believe a word he is saying. He starts to spin so hard he begins to look dizzy. The harder he spins, the more his head begins to bobble and weave, the more animated he becomes, the more excitable he looks. You can tell he's lying, because he has this big nervous grin on his face and occasionally laughs at his own remarks. The pitch of his voice also becomes noticeably higher, especially when someone is questioning something that is obvious bullshit.

Seriously, I want to know what the Clinton's are paying this guy. I know he's a long time friend, but hey - friendship only takes you so far. I draw the line at making myself look like a total ass on national TV repeatedly. It's hard to find good patsies like that these days.

I'd pay to see Terry go up against Baghdad Bob in a spin-off.

Who will reign supreme?

32. I agree 100%.
Terry was an awful chairman, but of course, even then, he was nothing more than the Clinton's patsy. Seriously. That's all he has ever been. How do you think he became chairman in the first place? One of the primary reasons I am working against the Clinton's is because they have the exact same ideology as Bush. They put people who aren't qualified to do a job in positions of power simply because they are loyal.

28. Kerry's votes would have been secured and counted if we had a REAL DNC chair after 2000s theft.
McAuliffe LET the states party infrastructures remain weak and collapsed further throughout his four year stewardship - his only concern was making sure no Democrat won so 2008 would stay open for Hillary.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Saeed_al-Sahhaf

From Wikipedia on Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf
Post-war life
On June 25, 2003, the London newspaper The Daily Mirror reported that al-Sahhaf had been captured by coalition troops at a roadblock in Baghdad. The report was not confirmed by military authorities and was denied by al-Sahhaf's family through Abu Dhabi TV. The next day al-Sahaf himself recorded an interview for the Dubai-based al-Arabiya news channel. Al-Sahhaf said that he had surrendered to US forces and had been interrogated by them. He was reportedly paid as much as $200,000 for the television interview, during which he appeared very withdrawn in contrast with the bombastic persona he projected during the war. Many of his answers consisted of a simple "yes" or "no". He refused to speculate on the causes of the downfall of the Iraqi government and answered only "history will tell" when asked if video clips purporting to prove that Saddam Hussein was alive were genuine, amid speculation at that time that Hussein had been killed during the war.

His fame quickly evaporated as the war continued into the "insurgency" phase; from the middle of 2003 onward, he faded from the public spotlight, and is no longer a figure in the war.

Although questioned by American authorities, al-Sahhaf was released, and there has been no suggestion of charging or detaining him for his role in the Saddam Hussein government. He is now living in the United Arab Emirates with his family.

When asked where he had got his information he replied, "authentic sources—many authentic sources".<7> He pointed out that he "was a professional, doing his job".

Mr. al-Sahhaf has since become a symbol for corporate and other communications that stubbornly refuse to acknowledge facts. One such instance was the reaction of Sampo Bank to reports of vulnerabilities in the new IT platform the bank switched to in March 2008.<8>

Much of the information given by al-Sahhaf during the war was clearly inaccurate. It has been argued that the same is not true of his predictions about the post-war situation. In 2007, British journalist Marina Hyde contrasted the comments of al-Sahhaf with those made by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, arguing that the former's view of the likely outcome of the war reflected the 2007 situation more accurately than Blair's descriptions.<9>

10. He was the Iraqi Information Minister during "Shock and Awe"
In retrospect all these years of misery later, it's not that funny, but he did provide a bit of common relief when claiming that everything was just hunky-dory during the invasion.

And he has his own website!!

13. He was the Iraqi Information Minister during and before the invasion of Iraq.
He's given the world such memorable quotes such as...

"There are no American infidels in Baghdad. Never!"

"Who are in control, they are not in control of anything - they don't even control themselves!"

"We have destroyed 2 tanks, fighter planes, 2 helicopters and their shovels - We have driven them back."

"We have them surrounded in their tanks."

"The American press is all about lies! All they tell is lies, lies and more lies!"

"Lying is forbidden in Iraq. President Saddam Hussein will tolerate nothing but truthfulness as he is a man of great honor and integrity. Everyone is encouraged to speak freely of the truths evidenced in their eyes and hearts."

"I triple guarantee you, there are no American soldiers in Baghdad."

"They are not in Baghdad. They are not in control of any airport. I tell you this. It is all a lie. They lie. It is a hollywood movie. You do not believe them."

"Our estimates are that none of them will come out alive unless they surrender to us quickly."

"Today I have visited whole Baghdad city, no invaders found. You go and see how we have ousted them from this city. They are cying outside and waiting to receive bullets. They will be killed shortly."

"These images are not the suburbs of Baghdad. From what I glimpsed, these gardens with rows of palm trees on the side, which you saw in the images, are located in the south of Abu Ghreib, where we have surrounded the Americans and British."

"Just look carefully, I only want you to look carefully. Do not repeat the lies of liars. Do not become like them. Once again, I blame al-Jazeera before it ascertains what takes place. Please, make sure of what you say and do not play such a role."

"I have detailed information about the situation . . . which completely proves that what they allege are illusions . . . They lie every day."

"They fled. The American louts fled. Indeed, concerning the fighting waged by the heroes of the Arab Socialist Baath Party yesterday, one amazing thing really is the cowardice of the American soldiers. Ae had not anticipated this."

"We have destroyed 50 tanks today. That 5-ohhh tanks"

"We are winning!"

i'm very good at avoiding tv and cable news coverage --i had no tv when OJ was murdered (was working at the Grand Canyon) and people would try to talk to me about it...lalalalalalalalala I can't hear you.

Global Crossing

McAuliffe has been criticized by political commentators such as William Safire and Arianna Huffington for his ties to Global Crossing, a company that went bankrupt in 2002 amidst what The New York Times called "many of the same accusations that have made Enron into one of the largest corporate scandals in history."

In 1997, McAuliffe purchased a pre-IPO $100,000 stake in Global Crossing. By 1999, McAuliffe sold his investment, which was then valued at $18 million dollars. Howard Kurtz of CNN reported that McAuliffe sold his shares years before there was "any hint of trouble with the company."

In March 2004, former Global Crossing executives paid $325 million without acknowledgment of wrongdoing to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging fraud. In April 2005, former executives agreed to pay fines for failing to disclose "material information" in the company's financial reports, settling a three-year inquiry by the Security and Exchange Commission.

Rick Perlstein, in his book review of McAuliffe's memoir, What a Party!, wrote that McAuliffe's involvement with Global Crossing compromised McAuliffe's ability to attack Republican ties to the Enron scandal during the 2002 midterm congressional elections. Republicans ended up winning a majority in the U.S. Senate. Frank Rich of The New York Times contrasted McAuliffe's characterization of Enron as "a web of greed and deceit" with Mcauliffe's defense of his investment in Global Crossing.

Herman v. Moore

In 1999, the U.S. Department of Labor sued Jack Moore, pension fund manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, on the basis of several deals made with McAuliffe. In one deal, McAuliffe and the pension fund partnered to buy commercial property in Florida, with McAuliffe investing $100 while the pension fund put up $39 million.McAuliffe received a 50% interest in the partnership and emerged with $2.45 million from his original $100 investment. The lawsuit was called Herman v. Moore, with Alexis Herman, the Secretary of Labor, as the plaintiff. In October 2001, Moore and another union official agreed to pay six-figure penalties for their roles in the deals and the union agreed to reimburse the pension fund. McAuliffe was not charged with wrongdoing.

The above info reminds me of this guy, someone who invests little money and makes MILLIONS.

26. I remember the day after the 2004 election
seeing him on TV, spinning the loss, saying that we had come in "a strong second" or some such bullshit. I don't remember the exact words, but I definitely remember that it was something to the effect of him trying to downplay the fact that we had lost, and spin it instead as something to be proud of, somehow.

It was that day that he earned the nickname that I give him every time I see him on TV: "That fucking douche."

I think it's fitting.
