Obama makes a general statement, then all of his surrogates go on TV and say the exact same thing only with more detail.

Make the simple and powerful message about looking for someone to blame. Deflect what they are saying. Do not let them frame things in terms of race. And TELL them outright that you will not allow them to frame the election in terms of race.

And Obama supporters, get over yourselves about the race card. You do too much whining. They will simply make fun of you, turning you into a punchline. If you think things are bad now, just wait until McCain and his minions start.

McCain will play the gentlemanly fellow, who wants to be cordial and "decent." He'll be avuncular, polite, reasonable, and speak in slow, measured tones--and in FULL sentences, pronouncing each word correctly, unlike his predecessor. He will appeal to people who took grammar in grammar school for that reason, alone.

While he's doing that, his 'unaffiliated' minions will be out there swiftboating to beat the band. He'll continue to decry, disavow, disassociate, and repudiate, with tsk-tsking and "That's not my idea of effective campaigning" but that message will STILL get out. And anyone who doesn't get that Obama thrill up their leg will say "Hmmm--this is a nudge-nudge, wink-wink thing happening." And they'll tell everyone they meet that McCain doesn't like that sort of thing, and that's why they're voting for him.

I think this election is going to look like 2000 and 2004. On steroids.

Get a grip on reality. That only works with the "true believers."
