that all these new voters will exercise that right to get a Dem in the Senate.

4. You Know
I always had doudts her seat was In play. But,since RAS has her In a dead heat she could be beat.
NC could turn Into a battleground state since the last poll had Obama and Mccain tied. And let's remember few thought we could knock off 6 Republican Incumbents In 2006.

I'm from SC and spent 3 days canvassing in NC prior to the primary. NC can and WILL go blue in '08!!

10. Don't fret about the poor li'l thang. She'll find shelter in a high-priced lobbying job
or equally high-priced phonied-up American Enterprise Institute "Senior Fellow" or some such crapola. And then, wouldn't surprise me if she puts herself out there as either the next GOP presidential or VP hopeful in four years. Hope not, but liddy dole is a piece of work, and as half of a political junkie couple, she's their only hope of staying in the game somehow.

23. Well, she will be 76 in 2012.
I can't see her being a viable national office candidate then.

Oh wait. You're talking about a Republican candidate.... that's another matter. She could be competitive after all. They won't be much better in 2012 than they have been this year.

Romney will try again in 2012. Maybe even Rudy. Wow, maybe Dan Quayle was not so bad a choice for Poppy after all.

9. A fine November night it would be to see Liddy Dole turned out of the
111th Congress.

I've not been a fan of hers for quite some time now.

Go, Democrats.

12. Obama is running strongest in all the states we are challenging for seats
Oregon, Virginia (pretty much a gimme, but still...), North Carolina, Colorado, Alaska, and New Mexico (Clinton narrowly won in the primary, but Obama has polled better in the GE polls). Coat tails!

14. Rasmussen put out a report on it just yesterday:
"Election 2008: North Carolina Senate

North Carolina Senate: Hagan (D) 48% Dole (R) 47%

Sunday, May 11, 2008

Democrat Kay Hagan, a state senator from Greensboro, easily won the Democratic Primary last Tuesday night and starts the general election campaign essentially tied with incumbent Senator Elizabeth Dole.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in North Carolina Hagan attracting 48% of the vote statewide while Dole earns support from 47%. A month ago, Dole led Hagan by thirteen percentage points. "

"Any incumbent who polls below 50% early in the campaign cycle is considered potentially vulnerable. Dole is far from the only Republican incumbent in that position this year. In addition to North Carolina, Democrats have at least a chance of picking up Republican seats in Virginia, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Colorado, Oregon,Alaska, Minnesota, Kentucky and Texas.

The Presidential race in North Carolina is also much closer than Republicans would like. "

25. How the Democrats couldn't whup her
I'll never understand. Her one talent is erupting into:

"A-hahahahaha! Thank yew! Thank yew soooo much! Y'all are sooooooo good!"

every 5 minutes.

The seat should've been a pickup, but the party sent in Erskine Bowles. Twice. And he got pasted. Twice.

When he was running against Dole, I was looking over his endorsements and noticed the state teacher's union refused to endorse him. A teacher's union should be a gimme for any Democrat. That was a pretty good indication they were fielding the wrong guy, and certainly shouldn't run him a second time.

28. Wanted to add a link to her web page, if you are able to donate $10 or $20 it will go to a GREAT
cause!!

http://www.kayhagan.com/

If you're in NC keep your eye open for her to speak in your area, you won't regret going and it will help you when you're talking to your neighbors about our candidates. She has done some impressive work as a State Senator, I believe she'll get many moderate Republicans votes too with record and the programs she's implemented in our senate.

Here are her next events:

31. When she spoke at the function I attended in the fall, she mentioned her
uncle and how she walked with him as he campaigned in Florida and she talked about her times in NC growing up, it's just a really good combo. Then add that to her history in the NC Senate, icing.
