Bad news for DUers who are voting for McCain: John McCain has a preacher problem of his own!
"In a taped sermon, the preacher McCain calls a "spiritual guide" calls on America to see the "false religion" of Islam "destroyed." Still, the candidate won't reject Rod Parsley's endorsement."

6. Unfortunately, some are and some are threatening to if the primary doesn't go how they want it to.
Hopefully, they will come to their senses before November!

5. Yes but the things that McCain's preachers say are acceptable in many parts of the country.
Very few people would be upset by this statement about Islam. Islam is not very popular here. Saying god is mad at or damning America because of abortion or gays isn't going to cause any rabid outrage because so many people buy into superstition in one form or another. These things have been said so often that people either agree with them or just brush it off as same old, same old. No outrage. The things that Wright has said, while mostly true, criticize the American sacred cows that we are the best, nicest, most godly country ever and have never done wrong in any way shape or form. Truth is very dangerous to the establishment and to the willfully ignorant. That's the difference.

13. I would prefer that the media stick to the issues. However, if Jeremiah Wright is treated as a
legitimate issue, then so should Hagee and Parsley. I think a video such as this one, as well as coverage on Hagee, could counteract the whole Wright non-story by putting the shoe on the other foot. Unfortunately, I'm not holding my breath for the media to give McCain's preacher problem equal time. If they did, my hope would be that voters would then be more interested in the real issues since the preacher thing would be a wash.
