Ohio is a key swing state with lot electoral votes.

(I gave a "moral" donation to his campaign), he couldn't help swing a damn hammer.

9. I'm not sure he would win Ohio. Heck, in '04 primaries he came in fourth in Ohio.

20. He might carry his little DISTRICT in Ohio, but he'd do more to push people AWAY from the ticket
in the rest of the country. "Untried and Moonbeam--The Peoples' Choice!"

11. I don't think most people think about the VP when they vote
Cheney had something like a 13% approval rating during the '04 election. Only those that like to make an issue about nonsense and then don't vote or plan on voting for a republican no matter what would bring up the history of a VP canidate.

14. what I want to know...
when he was running, there was all the "he's unelectable" chatter. but there was NEVER explanation, no substance whatsoever as to WHY "he'd never make it lmao !!1!"

there is not a single post on this thread that details why this would be so disastrous. i know DK is virtually unknown, except for a handful of soundbytes a la the dean scream, but i just don't get the lack of appeal- short of being a $$$$$$ candidate with a great PR machine, he really makes a lot of sense if people would just give him a chance.

wishful thinking...?

15. All the GOP
would have to do a replay that comment he made about seeing a UFO and how he had some cosmic experience afterward.

I like Dennis but I just don't see him as someone anyone other than his most staunch defenders would want one heartbeat away from the Presidency.

Perceptions play a big part in all of this. Unfair thought that may be, it is the reality.

19. thanks
i actually think he serves us best right where he is, but it's nice get an explanation. without it, there seems to be a collective laughing stock style implication that well he's obviously loopy.

18. The GOP is going to use Hillary playbook: Label Obama "too liberal"
He's going to need a moderate (democrat) VP. Preferably from a southern-midwestern state

Politics in America, I'm afraid. Being as out of the mainstream as he is wouldn't be tolerated.
Damn. :-(

He would be MUCH better as the next Secretary of Defense.

(evil laugh as we ponder how much he would cut the defense budget....)
