do you think the unleashing of SDs is strategic?
As in they are going 5-7 per day, and the Obama campaign is planning it this way purposefully.

3. absolutely. I wouldn't be surprised if there were quite a few announced between today and tomorrow
to blunt the media narrative about West Virginia.

4. A consistent stream of support is far stronger than what Clinton did early on.

10. Why would they be AFRAID to announce their superdelegates?
Why do you think that?

I think it's just an attempt to dominate the news cycle

21. Maybe you're right. The Clintons have given them pretty good reason to be afraid.
People that come out in support of Obama are regularly slammed, slandered, bitched-out, finger-wagged, or under-cut in some way by her campaign. If I were a politician, I'd be afraid of their wrath too. You never really know WHAT they will say next.

12. ridiculous. that doesn't even make sense. It's clearly deliberate
and the reason why they're doing it this way is obvious. They don't want to look like they're bullying Hill or trying to push her out before the primaries draw to a close.

15. could be, but having worked in washington, i think everyone is waiting to see what everyone else
is doing... these people are elected officials... they dont typically go maverick and step out all on their own.

they also dont openly talk about what they are gonna do... most of the people declaring probably dont know who else is gonna do it that day.

22. This has been a very structured and disciplined campaign.
I think they know exactly what they're doing, and the stream of SD endorsements over the past week certainly adds credence to that.

27. I agree, but I think its a little of both
Certainly there are still a large number who are trying to stay away from having to make a public choice before they are sure, but I think the one's who do declare are being managed by the Obama campaign.

The steady stream right after PA was very telling.

7. I think they do it in an attempt to dominate the news cycle.
Everyday is the same old from Hillary. Everyday Barack has 4-5 new Supers that he wins over and that the M$M HAS to report on. It makes sure you have at least one positive story in the rotation daily.

just my opinion.

8. I think today we get maybe 20 or 30 to defuse the WV vote
The pundits will be decrying a big loss on one hand then saying "wow, he got more supers today than he lost in pledged delegates. net gain todayfor Obama."

14. I don't think so. They'll simply continue doing what they're doing and
release SD endorsements in a steady stream. There may be 8 or so endorsements today, but I doubt they'll release 20.

11. I think he's aiming for June 3rd. He'll have the supers and the primaries will be over
I also now think that he doesnt mind the constant Hillary-Obama coverage that would disappear if she dropped out.

13. I think so

it is only 8am here on the West Coast, and already msnbc has announced that he just got another (Colorado governor? couldn't hear 100% as tv was in the other room, and dialup doesn't allow me to do any quick search, but it a Colorado SD).

So that is 4 SDs before 8am my time. Seems like a plan to me.

ETA: just heard it again - Roy Roemer (sp?), Colorado governor.

25. Thx - I just got back
from a morning run with my dog, and the way this is going, and have the tv back on, because even in this short time away, I wouldn't be surprised to hear of more SDs endorsing Obama.

In fact, one of news people (don't remember which channel I had on) said that more SD endorsements were expected today. And that Obama's total endorsements in the last week alone are now as many (or more?) than Clinton could gain tonight in WV even giving her the max. What a day already.

19. I think they're trying to give Hillary a face saving chance to concede
But clearly she's not getting it. There will come the day that Barack will have to dump 75-100 in a day and truly embarass her if she doesn't.

20. Let the pouring begin
I said this in another thread just now, but I think that Obama's camp, if they ARE preventing a flood of superdelegate declarations, is massively fucking up.

Anyone who thinks that Hillary is going to stump for Obama is pretty naive at this point, I think.

She's not going to drop out gracefully. She's going to continue hurting the Party every day she can. Playing the race card. Hurting the presumptive nominee. I'm really thinking that she IS playing the scorched-earth strategy to hurt Obama as much as she can.

I know that Obama has tried to hold the high ground, but enough is fucking enough. Let ALL the superdelegates leaning his way declare TODAY. Utterly OBLITERATE West Virginia from the news today! Let Hillary look like a complete fool before next weeks' primaries.

If Obama gives her enough rope, she'll hang herself. Enough of this nice guy bullshit. He's taken enough.

Hillary is a rabid dog who needs putting down. Immediately.
