Suggested speech for Barack Obama to win over the Racist White Vote
Here's a suggestion.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

There is nothing wrong with your eyes. There is nothing wrong with your television. There is nothing wrong with your radio. You are used to being suspicious and want to hate me because you detect that I am African-American.

You can detect that I am not one of you. I am what you whisper to our barber when you someone like me get out of a car downtown. I am that person your grandfather fought to make sure that I couldn't use the same bathroom or eat at the same restaurant. I am that person that, when you see me on the sidewalk toward you, try to hide your daughter for fear of her getting raped. I am that person that you think took a job away from someone who hasn't had a job in years. I am the unknown citizen in your circle of friends that you whisper about when you head into your churches.

That's right. I am running for President. In your eyes, I am an uppity nigger. You think I think I'm smarter than you. You think there isn't a time for people like me to be in a position of power. Even though there have been people like me who have been in positions of power, now is your chance to get back for their successes.

To you, we are all the same. To you, we are the reason for this country's failures. To you, we are evil. We are Muslims, which, to you, means we are terrorists. To you, the only people who support me are, as you would say raising your arms in anger nearby your Bible, are "dumb niggers" and those "rich liberals".

Martin Luther King once said "He who is devoid of the power to forgive, is devoid of the power to love.” Desmond Tutu said "“Without forgiveness, there's no future.” Bill Cosby said "If a white man falls off a chair drunk, it's just a drunk. If a Negro does, it's the whole damn Negro race."

Consider looking the mirror today and seeing if you can look yourself in the eye and think that your hate is something that makes you a better person...for you, for your family, for your town, for the World.

There are many people from all races and stripes and sizes and backgrounds that want to get along with each other. They have seen that no harm is done, only that more people learn to get along. It's easy to hate and harder to love. It's easier to be asleep than to wake up and face the day.

Let's all face it now together.

I didn't know whether to be cynical or serious...this is my rant...

2. Didn't he already give "the greatest speech on race ever"? How did that work out?
How about the part where he said he could no more disown his pastor than he could disown the black community?

Or disown his racist grannie?

3. It's not classy, too many negative soundbites would be used --
and it feeds into the stereotypes rather than diminishing them.

He does very well when he speaks to the common dreams and aspirations of people--why mess with success? There is no way he would get 100% of the vote--those who cannot see past the color of his skin will not be convinced no matter what he says, but after he is elected and has a chance to show them that he is not a muslim radical, perhaps they will learn to see him through different eyes.

These things take time.

4. He's smarter than most Americans.
In the words of Martha Stewart, that's a good thing. :)

I'm particularly offended by the elitist nonsense Hillary has been riding. Never in a million years did I expect THAT bullshit to come from a Democrat.

Guess what, America? You chose a dumbshit because you thought you'd rather have a beer with him. How's that working out for ya? Oy.

Obama is up 20 pts in Oregon which gives one pause to wonder Hillary can't win THOSE white votes. It's because it has more to do with being stoopid than being racist, although the latter is a vehicle by which they deliver their stoopidity.

Go get 'em, Barack.
