Poll: Obama trouncing Clinton in Oregon by 20 points
Poll: Obama trouncing Clinton in Oregon
Illinois senator leading former first lady 55-35

A bit more than a week away from Oregon’s May 20 primary, Barack Obama has amassed a nearly insurmountable lead in the Democratic presidential race, according to statewide polling conducted by Portland’s Davis, Hibbitts & Midghall Inc. for the Portland Tribune and FOX 12 News.

The U.S. senator from Illinois leads Hillary Clinton by a commanding 55 percent to 35 percent margin among likely Democratic voters, and even leads among women voters who ordinarily tilt toward Clinton, said Tim Hibbitts of Davis, Hibbitts & Midghall. The poll was conducted May 8-10, during and after visits to Oregon by Obama and Clinton.

“Barring a disaster, Barack Obama’s going to win Oregon, and he may win it very big,” said Hibbitts, one of Oregon’s most respected nonpartisan pollsters. “This is the widest lead that I’ve seen of any poll for Obama in Oregon,” he said. “I’d be shocked if Obama didn’t win here.”

Clinton’s slim hopes of gaining the Democratic nomination could rely on sweeping all six remaining primaries, Hibbitts said. Oregon’s May 20 primary could prove crucial in the nominating battle if Clinton wins, as expected, in West Virginia tonight and Kentucky on May 20.

“Obama needs a counterbalancing win, and Oregon looks like it’s here to provide it for him,” Hibbitts said.

30. lol she needs 328 out of the 458 delegates left... in order to win...
That's 71% with some strong Obama primaries coming up. It's not going to happen... proportional system... No exaggeration needed.

5. Sorry, but Hillary is still done. Obama will clearly be the nominee
SDs have been streaming in. He'll end tonight having gotten more delegates over the past week than Hillary. Next week he'll blow her out in Oregon and he'll reach the Pelosi number and gain even more delegates. Hill doesn't have the resources to continue this. It's effectively over.

17. Sure it is. Obama has the lead in every single metric.
He'll win big in Oregon next week. Your gal isn't just broke, she's in debt to the tune of 20 million. SDs have shown no interest in endorsing her for months. Her campaign is fatally wounded. Consider joining the reality based community.

4. Oh hell yes. There's very little love for Hillary here.
I can only speak about Portland (which can just about outvote the rest of the state) but of the people I know and the signs of support I see it seems like it's 80% Obama to 20% Hillary. Most of the people I've discussed the race with are enthused for Obama and very negative about Hillary. These are people who are very Internet savvy and are "on" to the mainstream corporate media. The type of campaign she's run has absolutely disgusted them. There are a couple of exceptions, like our friend who wears her Hillary button every day. I just avoid talking politics with her.

Well, we're so white here, we're the exact opposite of not a white state & Obama won 59% of the vote... I wonder why. We have a lot of professors, excellent educational opportunities, a lot of artists, we're very eclectic, we love Obama!

22. You must have missed the memo..
Obama's base collapsing

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/epolls/#WVDEM

Look at the numbers..

College Graduates: Clinton 57%, Obama 40%

Postgraduates: Clinton 49%, Obama 49%

Independents (16%): Hillary 54%, Obama 32%

Liberals (35%): Hillary 66%, Obama 33%

Very Liberal (13%): Clinton 74%, Obama 24%

18-29 (12%): Hillary 57%, Obama 41%

Didn't you notice how lacklustre Donna Brazile was tonight on CNN?

She knows his campaign is imploding in slo-motion..

is imploding. The grasping at straws and logical contortions to reach a preconceived notion are truly impressive.
