In EVERY state, as well as nationally, Hillary's been ahead by big double digits UNTIL Obama would go into each state and campaign there, talk to people, meet people, and close every gap, and in most states, (31) ended up BEATING her. So anyone trying to spin WV's loss as "a warning sign" they don't bring this into consideration.

1. like Giuliani, he did not campaign because he had no chance of winning at all
Edited on Tue May-13-08 07:45 PM by Mariotti
It's the same Giuliani excuse that he lost Iowa, NH, etc. because he didn't campaign there. Well, if polls had shown him close enough, he would have campaign. Same for Obama.

2. The pundits are all saying Obama is getting a big warning because he "slipped" and did
worse in WV among white voters than anywhere else. Why won't anyone point out that he didn't TRY there?

7. No. He has more important things to do. He's starting the GE already.

11. Why? He's already got it locked up; I'm glad he's turned his targets on McCain.

6. Ah, he did appear there 2or 3 times altogether, had several offices, and lots of ground work.

12. I'm an Obama supporter, and it's not "nothing". He has played in all states, though not as hard in
WV. But he DID play. They knew it would be so tough so fewer resources. But he didn't just blow it off by any means.

14. Making 2 or 3 stops total is nothing. Hillary made 3 stops yesterday alone.

9. Ignoring WV - Just adds to the "elitist" label
Not good pissing off West Virginians - my guess is the resentment could spread to OH, PA, KY, TN. Not that Obama can win these states anyway.
