6. Comparison != Analogy != Metaphor
I sort of doubt anyone is actaully comparing the primary race to a sporting event...

12. Ya know...
Sometimes, especially in heated times like this, it's probably best to just go with the flow. We all understood what the OP meant... grammar police are so passé... just saying.

17. Actually, I didn't understand what the OP meant.
so I indicated that things I've seen posted recently don't equal each other. If that's being the 'grammar police' then I'm guilty. It's no more correct to use the wrong word than it is to claim that 2 + 2 = 5.

You may feel it's a distinction without a difference - I don't.

9. Even when some don't use an overt sports analogy...
Some still have the "Yay Team" mentality... neener neener... the Dodgers(Obama) beat the crap out of the Mets (Clinton)... neener neener...

I doubt they really give a flying rat's ass... they just want to be on a winning team. Band wagon fans.

18. suggestion
do you care enough to stop posting the stop it posts?

What kind of analogy would you like? (Me I am analogy free)

Let's compare this political stuff to curing cancer. That ought to work. We all think politics is important or we would be looking at internet porn or gambling on line.

Does it really hurt anyone to use a sports analogy? :shrug:
