But now twice that I saw, once at a previous Hillary loss and then last night, both on MSNBC, Pat lost it. He was very angry, spoke very loudly, interrupted other pundits (which is something he hardly ever does)...it was really difficult to watch.

People are making too much out of the working white issue. As if there is one kind of working white.

Right after the Edwards endorsement speech, CNN's Campbell Brown came on the air, and she totally lost it. She burst out saying (loose quote) "Edwards' endorsement means nothing because he's doing it for political reasons only..." and it went downhill from there.

I turned it off, but is it just more of his cries for sisterhood? I remember when he was calling Hillary "the coal miner's daughter" during the PA primary, Jesus Christ. Can you imagine being next to Pat on an airplane? I keep imagining what it would be like to run into him in person.

However, like watching a B-rated movie just to see if it gets worse, I had to watch him melt down.

Didn't Pat used to work with Geraldine Ferraro on Crossfire? I remember he was very offended when that whole thing happened, and he said that what Geraldine said was true and that Obama rose to fame because he had the image that the democratic party wanted, and they wanted to use him to get past their white liberal guilt or something. I love how when things like that happened, Pat was like "Why must we be so politically correct?!" and then when Wright happened "He blamed the United States for 9/11! 'This guy' (Obama) is not who people thought he was!" He tried to make Obama into the Black candidate long before Wright, and that finally gave him the permission to use the "it's reverse racism!" thing.


Every now and then he just loses control, and I wonder if he gets a "talking to" , or if the MSNBC execs just think it is hopeless. I remember when he exploded on Dan Abrams and told Kelli Goff to shut up, and Dan completely wimped out, and Rachel had the balls to scold his rudeness. For being the former general manager of the station, Dan does not have very good control over his panel at times.

This is twice now that I've seen him lose it while acting as a pundit for MSNBC. The previous occasion was at another Hillary loss.

It is very un-Pat-like for him to interrupt others, speak so loudly, and his face was really showing a dark anger.

His sister, Bay, is a loon, and his brother has serious mental problems. I think Pat has suppressed his own problems, but I've seen them erupt twice on MSNBC, both occasions following big Hillary setbacks.

I think MSNBC should re-think having Pat on the air. I've drawn heat here before because I think, although I don't agree with hardly any of his opinions, he usually conducts himself with a quiet dignity which is refreshing, considering some of the other camera-stealing antics of other pundits.

In addition, Pat is not a neocon. He's old-school, including the bigotry, and we need to understand that old-school Republicans are still with us, still manipulating public opinion, and deserving of keeping an eye on.
