Pat Buchanan on MSNBC: Why can't they have token wingnuts like Fox does with liberals?
Edited on Wed May-14-08 11:32 PM by sfam
Why oh why does MSNBC feel the need to have "actual" right-wing crazies? Lets give Fox news some credit - they were pretty smart in taking faux liberals like Colmes and (more recently after a few lobotomies) Juan Williams to prop up straw man arguments for their less than intelligent right-wing stars to take pot shots at. This has the double benefit of looking "fair and balanced" while making idiotic rants by Hannity actually seem passable in the play-by-play of the dialogue.

Why doesn't MSNBC take the same course? They've gotten Joe Scarborough (who is more concerned with "Joe Scarborough" than any actual issues), but Pat Buchanan is truly a loose cannon. Not only are his rants insane, they don't even allow for a real dialogue or rebuttal. His racist rant earlier tonight is only the latest in a long line of whacko commentaries. Usually they have Rachael Maddow to baby sit Pat, but tonight they were stuck with a stunned Tweety and Mrs. Greenspan, neither of who had any idea what to say to make it stop.

So in short, my solution is for us to start an email campaign to get MSNBC to hire faux wingnuts to match Fox's faux liberals.

Who's with me?

2. I actually like Joe...
...Yeah, he's still a RW shill, but he keeps it fairly toned down. We're all deluded if we think ANY network is not going to have and RW pundits.

Face it, MSNBC continually has the honor of placing last in the ratings game.

I think they need to get some more intelligent left-leaning hosts other than Matthews and Obermann. These two definitely compete with each other for biggest liberal idiot on MSNBC.

3. Joey the Scar is VILE. At least Pat Buchanan is "up front" WYSIWYG. Ole Scarborough is
way smooth and MILKED that drawl dog whistles ... "southern strategy" with the Rev. Wright scandal to the max.

He's just VILE in his racism because it's veiled but those of us from the south, KNOW IT as it's being played.

I hope Rachel Maddow takes old Joey the Scar's show away. Perhaps then they could TRULY look into the circumstances concerning the dead intern in his office. :wow:

4. I don't have a problem with M$NBC employing true conservatives.
My issue is with racists, bigots, and sexists, like Buchanan and Scarborough.

I swore off M$NBC, with the exception of watching Countdown, shortly after Obama gave his speech on race. I had written them numerous emails complaining about Scar and Buch, and M$NBC gave them more face time.

I didn't see Hardball yesterday, but did just watch the YouTube clip and am again disgusted with Pat and M$NBC. I just sent them an email expressing my disappointment and disgust with their continued employment of an obvious racist.

I don't think M$NBC really cares though, and will be shocked if they fire Pat KKK.
