The GOP is Scared Shitless about Obama Being the Nominee and Down-Ballot Races
Don't get it twisted...the recent rethug lost seats have sent a warning shot throughout the entire GOP. It may be a sign of things to come. DEMOCRATS put a Dem into office in Mississippi and outnumbered the Republicans. The GOP brand is seriously damaged right now, as the Rethugs are getting little love through the MSM and Obama is a media darling right now (technically-speaking...he gets more press). They tried Rev. Wright and it didn't work and I'm sure they're feeling as if they've already overplayed their hands on that issue. I've seen Hillary supporters say she'd be more electable because she's so tough. Well, toughness hasn't won her the nomination, and Obama is definently electable seeing as how he's about to defeat the vaunted "Clinton machine." He's outraised her and outflanked her. The MSM has continued to give her the benefit of the doubt, but to no avail. Barack Obama has beaten the most recognizable and powerful name in the entire Party...if the GOP isn't shitting bricks about Obama then they're insane.

But obviously, they are worried...all you have to do is look at the way they're acting right now. McCain is trying to sound like a moderate Dem lately...he's not stupid. Too bad we'll call him out on his crap when the General Election starts and make him look like the pander bear he is. You have Right-Wing mouthpieces on TV foaming up when they talk about Obama...it's almost funny really. They have no clue how to run against Obama and are just HOPING (no pun intended) that the old playbook will work this time around.

1. Obama motivates and excites the black vote and young vote

And anyone in their right mind, knows that spells trouble especially in small districts for House races where they can completely flip the race

2. I wonder if Bush and Clinton are worried that Obama may not seal their records
like Bush sealed Bush I and Clintons records? Why would Bush want to seal Clintons records? I have always wondered about their closeness.

5. I'd sure like to know the answer to some of that.
That said--Obama's already on record as saying he'd investigate any past criminal activity by the Bush Administration were his attorney general to inform him of any solid evidence of it. That's a good sign.

3. Oh, for sure.
It was Sam Seder who made this point first, for me--he felt Obama's effect on downticket races might be reason enough to support him as our nominee.

And I think there are a whole lot of goopers who won't admit it, but they have got to be terrified of a very motivated African American voting bloc, who will be taking out a whole lot of nasty old white men who are well past their sell-by date.

4. You are right
and I believe whomever the Dem nominee is will do quite well at getting more democrats elected. The Mississippi race should be slightly tempered however. The (D) and the (R) weren't too far apart philosophically and Mississippi now has three (D's) and one (R) in congress. On the flip side, don't be surprised on election night if you watch Trent Lott's old seat going (D.)

6. Their only hope now is for Clinton to be on the ticket so they can rally the snake handlers
to vote against her. They're not going to show up just to vote for McCain.
