MSNBC: Delegate update: NC adjustment
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/05/16/1031452.aspx

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
NBC NEWS has adjusted the delegate split out of North Carolina, resulting in two more for Obama and two less for Clinton. Obama gets a net of 19 delegates, a 67-48 split, out of the Tar Heel State.

The NBC NEWS Delegate Counts:
PLEDGED: Obama 1,601 to 1,445
SUPERDELEGATES: Obama 292.5 to 276.5
TOTAL: Obama 1,893.5 to 1,721.5

4. LOL!!! I kinda feel bad for Hillary
Anytime there is an adjustment, she seems to get the short end of the stick.

21. I wonder how much of that is feet on teh street
She was thin all along, assuming it would be over on Super Tuesday.

We know how GOP bullies were able to make a big difference in Florida in 2000. I'm not accusing Obama people of bullying anybody, but for the numbers to break his way so consistency, I wonder if some of that came from him having people on the scene at all the critical places and times.

8. Obama could go over the top before Tuesday!
DCW currently has him at 1608.5 on pledged delegates.

He's less than nine away!

IF a few more Edwards pledged delegates flip, he'll win in Kentucky even if he loses!

18. The campaign's numbers have a few errors
DCW is now using http://www.thegreenpapers.com/pP8/The Green Papers] for its numbers, which has done a really good job of keeping up with official sources. The 1.5 delegate discrepancy comes from Obama including 2.5 extra and not including 1. The 1 he is not including yet is an Iowa Edwards delegate that has switched to Obama, no idea why he has not been included but it probably just has not gotten to the campaign (he also is not yet counting a new SC delegate but TGP is not either). The extra 2.5 come from Washington, Louisiana, and Democrats Abroad. The campaign is most certainly wrong on LA, as the certified total listed on the [link:http://www.demconvention.com/certified-delegates-ec">DNC site matches TGP. The Democrats Abroad error maybe the result of rounding, but they have included an extra ½ delegate over the certified results. Washington is not as clear as the results can not be certified until after their convention, but TGP matches the Washington State Democratic Party's numbers while the Obama campaign is 1 over. Regardless, Obama is very close to taking the 1627 pledged delegates necessary for clinching the majority, and whether it is 17 or 18.5, that number will be crossed next Tuesday.

12. Pledged delegate majority happens at 1627 (3253 total)
So Obama is 18.5 away in getting the pledged delegates majority. Oregon will still put him over the top. Now if only another 75 super delegates would endorse between now and then, he'd be securely at 2025 total next Tuesday.:)

23. Did obama get more delegates out of Indiana? the results were a deference of .885% not 2%
Edited on Fri May-16-08 04:08 PM by Heather MC
Just curious I notice Hillary got 38 delegates and Obama got 34
but that was before the final numbers were released
seems to me they should have an even number of of delegates from Indiana
