What is going on? Have I entered the twilight zone?
Edited on Fri May-16-08 06:55 PM by senseandsensibility
Okay, so I come home from a hard day's work, turn on the boob tube, and am absolutely floored that the corporate media seems to be trashing chimp, McSame and their records. Obama is being treated with respect and listened to.

Tweety is claiming that it's because Obama stood up for himself, and can't be swift boated. But I seem to be remembering Kerry using some pretty tough language and it was ignored or ridiculed by the media.

Also noticed this afternoon: wholesale trashing of the repug party like I have NEVER seen.

I expect to wake up shortly.

2. Public opinion has shifted away from the GOP and towards the dems.
Thus the media sells a different product to the masses.

5. Exactly. They don't report any more. They go with what's popular.
America hates the chimp, so does the media...now.

Journalism is dead.

4. The media gave bush a pass for years, figuring it was the right thing to do.
They don't think it's the right thing to do anymore.

6. NPR replayed an entire Hagee interview this afternoon
from after Katrina where he said that god had destroyed New Orleans to punish them for their gay pride parade.

They introduced the piece something like "Since the quote from our interview with Hagee has gotten so much media attention, we thought we would replay the interview in its entirety, for those who missed it the first time". They seemed quite pleased to do it, as if they were being given some leash and they were going to enjoy it.

The interview was some scary crap the whole way through, btw - the guy is completely nuts.

11. Great, let's hope this Hagee story
gets some serious play on television as well. Even a tenth of the time they giddily devoted to Wright would do some serious damage.

10. Hardball.......
....and did you notice? When Matthews was talking about Bush's Israeli comments about Obama, Michael Smerkonish (sp?) said that while every media outlet is talking about this story, at the same time, bin laden just released another video!! And surprisingly, no one is asking why bin laden is still running around, let alone making more tapes!!

I couldn't believe a conservative was actually asking why bin laden is still alive!!!

14. I have no idea who Smerkonish is
I had a vague idea that he was conservative when I first heard him, but he came across middle of the road or left leaning. It was only today when he said very emphatically that * was not an idiot, that he seemed like he might be a repug.
