Tickets for Obama appearance in Billings, MT, gone in two hours
http://www.billingsgazette.net/articles/2008/05/17/news/local/18-obamafans.txt

When the tickets ran out about noon, campaign workers told the approximately 20 people still in line that there may be another event held on the Crow Indian Reservation.

By early evening, the campaign announced the rally in Crow Agency. Gates to the park, just off of Interstate 90, open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets aren't necessary.
...
Obama's campaign also has inspired Terry Dascher to vote. A Billings resident, Dasher, 50, who showed up at about 6 a.m., has voted maybe twice before in general elections.

"This is the first time I've even really wanted to vote," Dascher said. "He's the only person who ever excited me enough. I feel like he's got the energy to really make changes."

Lots of people who have not been much involved in politics are PUMPED in Montana! Check out the article and have a Saturday smile!

3. And Go BLUE Montana!
We have 2 DEM Senators and a DEM GOV who rocks the other governors and scares the crap outta the Beltway Bozos. Obama is playing well here. LOTS of life long GOP voters changing affiliation. Lots more just gonna vote OBAMA in GE.

Change... it's in the wind out here in the West.

4. Did you read the part about the lady who designed her own Obama tee shirt
And bless the smart school admin/teachers who gave kids an excused absence from their Government class to go see a presidential candidate at their school. So much wiser than the jerks who suspended those lads for ditching gym to go to cafe across from their school when a presidential candidate dropped in. ;)

There is more to education than butts in chairs!

6. Unhappy news for those who still wanted tickets but
extraordinarily encouraging news for U.S. democracy.

Barack Obama rocks Montana.

I love it.

7. I'm kicking this for Montana. A great-great aunt of mine was among
that state's very first school teachers.

And I am going to dog-nap Brian Schweitzer's dog for my very own.

One of the most impressive governors to come along in ages. And that dog is to die for.

9. Jag is a grand dog! Lots of us kid that it is Jag, and not the Gov
who actually pilots that plane Brian has to get around in here under the Big Sky!

A pic for ya, cuz I luvs ya so much:

Thanks for telling us about your great-great-aunt. Those early teachers had SO much to contend with back in the day. If you ever get out this way, give me a heads up. I can arrange some visits to one room schools still in operation, as some that are relics. Will give you a broader appreciation of that aunt.

13. Jag?! Flying that plane? You know what, I BET he does.
Best political dog ever.

I hear you so much on those one-roomer out there on the high Great Plains. Lonesome, wind-blasted, far-away places they are, and what a beautiful poetry surrounds them.

"The Wild Montana Skies" indeed.

You live in a terrific place, havocmom.

Thanks for the photo -- a humdinger. It looks to me like a future president walking down the street, greeted by well-wishers.

16. Here's a kick for Sunday evening, on grounds that this poster
has put up a key indicator of a candidate's popularity in red Montana, which of late is getting a purply shade of blue.

I love the trend.
