As Soon as Clinton Supporters Stop Posting Inflammatory Crap About Obama
I'll be "nice". I can only speak for myself. But I am sick and tired of coming onto this supposedly Democratic Forum, the ONLY place we have to post about the GE Fight Against McCain, and seeing "Michelle Whitey" posts, rightwing sourced rumor/smears, blatantly racist tripe that gets locked, talking points instructed by Hillary about how Obama is Cheating/Stealing Caucuses, how Hillary is REALLY WINNING, "ITS THE MAP NOT THE MATH", etc., and then seeing demands that "YOU BETTER BE NICE TO ME OR ELSE..."

But that's just me. It's also just a handful that are instigating the really divisive anti-Obama, incendiary flamebait posts. But those few are enough to make this place resemble another place that I won't mention and to keep the CONSTRUCTIVE dialogue here to a minimum. Until that garbage stops, I doubt some Obama supporters will heed a call to "be nice".

I would like to start figuring out how to fight and win the GE. Evidently, we are not going to be able to do that here as long as disruptors are allowed to freely instigate "trouble", and that is a damned shame.

3. Why don't you just ignore those few?
If their very goal is to keep the rancor going between factions, if you ignore them, you take away that power from them and thwart their plans. Eventually, they'll just end up talking to themselves, and that won't harm anyone in my view....

10. When I first joined..
Edited on Sun May-18-08 04:26 PM by dbmk
.. a lot of people were talking about the ignore feature. I thought I would rather hear what everyone had to say.

Ended up responding to a ton of posts that were so detached from reality that I slowly realised I was wasting energy. And as people started realising what the result would be, the tone got even more deranged in some posts - so I decided recently to apply the ignore feature to anyone I deemed out of reach of logic and reason and be extremely generous about applying it.
Had 1 person on before that moment. It grew fast and is still growing. But GD: P is a completely different and better place for me these days.

And I really think its better for the atmosphere in the time to come, to use that feature now more than ever, and ride it out until the moderators issues the lock down against disruption.

69. I emptied out my ignore list the day after NC & IN
But I've been sorely tempted to open it back up again. The rancor has decreased, as quite a few Hillary supporters have started to accept reality. But the dead-enders annoy the crap out of me. They are the ones who would go back on my ignore list, if I choose to reopen it.

past their post, especially if you can't laugh at them. I actually, post funny pictures and laugh at their crap because I know they are in a great deal of them in agony right now.

Their dream has died..and many still haven't wrapped their brains around that fact, or if they have, they now are mad at Barack Obama, as if he is personally responsible because Hillary is a goner and won't get the nomination.

Is it because I refuse to listen to what you counsel?

Why do you keep following my posts? If I annoy you that much, you could simply just put me on ignore. It is not that hard and it saves you the bother of hating me.

Not only that but I freely admit to sometimes losing my cool. So shall you listen to the advice I offered and shut up already. This is getting tiresome.

20. I'm with you
I'm not going to coddle those people who post right wing talking points and rely on racism to make a point. Also, this is the internet. Say it with me now people "the internet" Anything anyone says to you on this board should be kept on this board and your e-feelings shouldn't be dictating who you vote for and why. If you rely on your hurt e-feelings to pick a candidate then you are far too gone IMO. I don't understand all this: well Obama has to do this and this for me to vote for him, you better be nice to me or else, I'm not voting for Obama because Obama DU supporters are mean to me. I mean are you serious? You got to be thinking about your own family and your well being not your fucking e-feelings. I just don't get it, also I have quite a few of them on ignore. I started with the racist and moved on to the annoying ones. I'm obviously not seeing as much crap as some of you because my ignore list is very long. I decided a while ago that it really wasn't that serious and the best way to keep from getting pissed is to just ignore them. This election is more about saving the future of this country. I'm not too worried about Hillary and her supporters feelings.

As much as they want us all to believe that we need to kiss their ass to win in November I know that is utter crap. Those who are sensible enough will realize what is at stake and do the right thing in Nov. Those who are so pissed that Hillary did not win that they are considering voting for McCain are too far gone to reach. I'm not going to waste my time on them besides if there were so many of those people out there then Hillary wouldn't be in debt. You would think that people who hate Obama and his supporters so much that they would vote for McCain would have no problem giving the Hill campaign money. From what I have been reading she is in debt up to her eyeballs so those high core supporters that will go to McCain, well obviously there isn't that many.

Edited on Sun May-18-08 08:15 PM by highplainsdem
If not, then you have no right to complain about flamebait from Clinton supporters.

I saw those vicious, lunatic messages about Clinton posted here day after day. Sometimes they were "jokes" about how if Clinton were VP, Obama would need a food taster -- oh, so funny -- and other times they were perfectly serious. Insane, but serious.

A lot of the more vocal Obama supporters here posted them.

A lot of the others apparently didn't have any problem with their candidate's rival being accused of being homicidal.

Hey, she's only a former first lady, one of the most admired women in the world, and a candidate who got about as many votes as Obama.

So it's perfectly okay to post again and again that she's homicidal.

Those messages were so far beyond what should be acceptable in a Democratic forum that the people posting them should have been given a warning and then tombstoned if they did it again.

I didn't see Clinton fans suggesting Obama would have Clinton killed.

Please tell me why you think it's okay for Obama supporters to post dittohead slime like that, attacking the Democratic candidate who did better than any other rival of his in this very close primary race.

And then we can talk about the other inflammatory crap.

64. That and a few other things have really upset me.
Most of the truly awful stuff is usually shouted down but the idea that a sitting US Senator who has never shown any evidence of physically harming anyone poisoning her rival is okay?
