8. Logging, sawmills, fishing doesn't count as "working class"?
Apparently, we sip lattes and live off of our trust funds?

Or maybe it's because we don't see how *dreadfully* important race and gender are.

...Republicans.

Most of Hillary's voters in KY and WV have no intention of voting for her in November. She's their second choice of the three candidates.... well behind McCain.

34. There is a group of conservative Democrats who will vote for a Democrat if the candidate...
... shares their values.

It's the reason why Bill won in both 1992 and 1996.

We lost most of the conservative Democrats in 2000 and 2004. Which is why we didn't win the election.

37. Conservative Democrats win those voters... but in the process lose the other voters we need...

..young people... black people.... educated people.

AND

The reason why Bill won in '92 and '96 was because Perot split the "conservative" vote with Bush.

38. We can make that up easily with Independents this year
Why are we chasing uneducated conservatives as someone we need to win?

The vast majority of this country wants change. Much more than just the people in WV or KY. We can more than overtake this demographic if Clinton supporters solidly get behind Obama, because the over-riding number of Indies in a country polled as 80% thinking we are off track are not going to follow McCain.

On page 2 of 7 in CNN exit poll, whose link might not work if reached from a hyperlink, as usual, but try it anyway:

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/epolls/#ORDEM

or go to CNN and find it.

There's no doubt that there he will get quite a fair share of white voters, but he's not getting them in most of the other primary states and that's a fact.

36. "liberal" is a good thing... not a bad thing.....

There's another word for "conservative white voter" ....

...Republican.

A large chunk of Hillary's voters in Appalachia have no intention of voting for her in the GE if she were the nominee. They are Dixiecrats who would vote Republican. They voted for Bush. Twice.

Hillary is their DISTANT second-choice behind McCain. She beats Obama... but she'd lose to ANY Republican in those states.

42. Funny.... that's the argument that GHW Bush supporters made in 1980 about their candidate....
...when comparing him to Reagan.

"Moderates win elections. Reagan's too radical."

In "sea change" elections, moderates do not always win. It's why Reagan won in 1980.... it's why FDR won in 1932... it's why Bobby Kennedy WOULD HAVE WON in 1968 if he wasn't assassinated.
