We are in the General Election... no doubt

and here is a clue to all those who, like me, saw their candidate drop out

(and trust me, HRC will have to)

Here is your choice

STAY HOME (and I expect some of you to do just that)

VOTE THIRD PARTY (Again I expect a small number of you to do just that, after all that will show them!)

VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN (How many of you do that may be a problem... and I hope by November you will have enough of Johnny to have come back to your senses, still some of you will do just that)

WRITE HER IN (that will show them!, and yes I do expect a few of you to do just that)

VOTE FOR THE PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE (Most of us will line behind this person, whoever it is. And yes, that is Obama at this point)

Now for those of you thinking of any of the other four choices, I can only say one thing, my lovely Cockatiel, he is 21 going on three, shows more maturity... even in the depths of his wonderful tanter tanttrums.

Reality is that the General Election has been joined, and it is time to wake up, smell the coffee, grieve and line up behind the guy with the D after his name. There is too much at stake and by 2012 (if indeed that is the objective) your candidate should have grown up too

Yes, I want to see a woman president in my lifetime, and I recognize that this race has been historic... but it is also proving to be quite the political realignment

And I fear that this lecture will have to be given a couple more times before this sinks in
