Clinton Supporters: When you threaten to vote for McCain, you *will* not get sympathy
from Obama supporters. None at all.

You need to understand that you are not allowed to use the tactic of "Well then I'm just not going to vote Democratic." You're backing out of the deal if you do that- we agreed to the nomination rules long, long ago.

And you need to understand that Obama supporters will react to that viciously- and rightly so. When you say that, you will NOT be pulled back into, let alone welcomed back into, the party. You can do a lot of things, beat up on Obama plenty, and still be welcome. What you can't do is make those kinds of threats.

If you're looking to come back into the family, you need to understand where the line is. Obama and his supporters will put up with a lot- that's pretty much the one tactic that you will only end up on the outside for using.

Saying that is idiotic anyway. Start using your reasoning.

Now I think 98% of them are just blowing off steam, and won't actually do it.

That 2%, if they're out there, repulse me more than honest Repugs.

hysterical, Obama-crazed fans here.

First off all, you don't set the rules.

Nope, I just opened the rule book and I don't see your name anywhere.

Have there been people coming out of the woodwork today saying they're not going to vote Democratic.

Or is this you just mad that Hillary and I want all of the votes counted (since I love democracy).

And I'll take my answer off the air. Thank you.

15. "Hillary and I want all of the votes counted"
but yet, she's perfectly willing to write off caucus states with her new math, and allow 100% of a primary result that didn't have Obama on the ballot for his supporters to vote for.

I smell BS. This "let every vote count" story is much better when you say it how it really is...she wants all HER votes to count.

I'm still a little pissed off about 2000.

It has permanently left a scar about what happens when all of the votes ARE NOT COUNTED.

I'm all for counting the votes. I have no qualms at all about allowing FL to count as is, but you can't say you want to count ALL the votes and then say you'd be willing to certify an election result in which one of the candidates wasn't even on the ballot in MI. It doesn't work like that.

11. Telling people what they are "allowed" to do works REALLY well.
NOT.

I'm voting for the Democratic nominee, FWIW, but that "lecturing" shit isn't cutting it.

You might try a Dale Carnegie course.

I know plenty of over-fifty voters who will vote for Popeye if Clinton is not the nominee, and your demand that they do otherwise or risk not getting your "sympathy" or getting a "vicious" reaction from you will cause them to, well, raise their right hand slowly, and cheerfully extend their middle finger in your general direction, whilst offering you a hearty "Fuck You" as a greeting.

See, these people do not really give a flying fuck what you think. They don't care about YOU, or your candidate, and they are ready to say that very same "Fuck you" to the Democratic Party. Really. A third of this state is independents, so they don't have any trouble turning their back on the national party if it does not respond to their views.

They don't love McCain, but they have a Pottery Barn view of the situation--the GOP broke it, they bought it. They made the mess, now they can clean it up. Pick up that broom, Popeye, and git ta sweepin'!

They're ENTRENCHED with regard to this view, too. They don't want to come back into your little family. And they aren't making "threats." Those are PROMISES. I don't think many of you realize that.

They think you all are a bunch of assholes, they think your candidate is an inexperienced idiot, and that's why they plan on voting for Popeye if their candidate, Senator Clinton, isn't on the ballot.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: Shooting the messenger, now, is counterproductive. I will repeat for those who don't read carefully--I am voting for the D nominee.

Edited on Wed May-21-08 06:20 AM by quickesst

"And you need to understand that Obama supporters will react to that viciously"

By that, you mean O fans will simply continue the same tactics used thus far. Got it.

"If you're looking to come back into the family, you need to understand where the line is. Obama and his supporters will put up with a lot- that's pretty much the one tactic that you will only end up on the outside for using."

Obama supporter, confirming that Democratic Underground is now Obama Underground, and any who do not agree, or support him is not welcome. Will they hunt us down and cut off our heads if we do not succumb? From the "vicious" comment, it sounds as if they'd like to.

Obama fans, in showing their hatred for HRC, and disdain for her supporters on a continuing daily basis believe this is the best way to bring voters to Obama if he is the nominee. The shallow mind believes that they can come into someone's living room, leave a big, steaming pile of shit in the middle of it, then expect to be rewarded for the action. Personally, I don't think any Clinton supporter would want, nor need sympathy from a group who's foundation is built upon hatred, and the constant screaming of RACIST, RACIST, RACIST, real or imagined, if they don't fall to their knees and worship at the alter of Obama. I'm voting for the dem nominee, including Obama, despite his "supporters" efforts to discourage such action, and as for your "sympathy", well, you know the old saying about "where the sun don't shine". Thanks.

I hasten to say I am making no such threat. I'm voting Democratic. But those threats you're hearing are not cries for sympathy. They're reality trying to tell you you screwed up.

Alas. Obamites are probably not much better at self-criticism than they are at getting the point of things.
