Communists for McCain - A Strange Case of Clinton Support

So my best friend has an ex-girlfriend he has remained friends with. I have heard her describe herself as both a Marxist and a communist. Now, I'm a lifelong liberal democrat, I've met plenty of socialists, but this woman is the only self-identified communist I've ever met. Maybe it's just my sheltered midwestern upbringing.

Anyhow, I haven't seen much of her since she and my friend split up, but yesterday he informed me that she, as a Hillary supporter, intends to vote for McCain if Clinton doesn't get the nomination. She literally said she would vote for McCain over Obama. Not stay home and not vote. Go to her polling place and vote for John McCain.

Which makes her a communist for McCain.

That struck me as an incredibly odd thing to be. Like unbelievably odd. Like Richard Dawkins taking communion odd. A couple nanoseconds longer and it struck me that this person's support of Hillary Clinton has absolutely nothing to do with policy.

Now, I'm not saying that this is in any way indicative of the average Clinton supporter or the average communist. I'm just passing along a story that I found interesting. This primary season has been the bizarrest fucking thing I've ever seen.

She does show preference for totalitarianism though, so McCain makes sense.

I stole Imminent Death Syndrome from the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show. Highly recommended if you haven's seen it. It used to be cited on the wikipedia page I linked to but has since disappeared. Hmmm....

oh so frigging wrong but so god damn funny. David Cross is hilarious, his impression of Stepehn Hawking, also so wrong but so funny.

As does her Anarchist husband.

Almost as strange as a communist voting for McCain.

Geez, if I wanted to loot, corrupt, and destroy America as efficiently as possible, I can't imagine a better weapon than eight years of Dubya followed by another eight for McSame.
