Is Clinton Pulling a Ruse? Is Obama Clueless?
In case you didn't get the memo of a couple weeks ago, we are to praise and magnify the name of Clinton and point out what a tenacious and fantastic campaigner she is so that she can "climb down gracefully" ('cause, after all, the world revolves around the Clintons). Act II is that she then in a couple weeks exits stage left as the great lady of our party. Well..did you hear her today?

Could this be a ruse? Obama is new to politics on this level. Could it be that in a couple weeks instead of leaving, she raises one hell of a stink while pointing to the "lovely words" of Obama and the rest of us as her "proof positive" of how she is recognized by all sides as the greatest of fighters and the true leader of ALL the party, etc.? That makes it a lot harder for Obama to turn around and go after her throat, doesn't it?

Rachel Maddow pointed out weeks ago, contrary to all the talking heads, that she will have to be dragged away screaming. She, again, pointed that out last night saying that the Obama folks are delusional if they think she's going to do this graceful bow out.

Our leaders have to decide FAST if Obama taking a boot to this woman's ass and kicking her off the stage will do greater harm than letting her pull a "Bush in Florida" like tactics to either get the nomination or make our party a mess; and, thus, leading to very poor turn out in the fall. Does the sacrifice of a bunch of old broads (and I'm one of those old broads--but not an old broad for Hillary)whose retirements will be hell under McCain outweigh the effect of wiping out the black vote and a high percentage of white votes in the fall? Do they give her the boot and hope these older white women realize what a McCain administration will do to them in time to get on board in the fall?? We need some people using their brains in the upper levels of our party.

1. I wouldn't
Put anything past the Clintons!

Every day they make be more ashamed of the way they are acting, and the very high possibility that they are going to destroy any chance that the democrats have of winning in November. I am with you, the party leaders need to do something before it's to late and we end up with Mccain as president. Don't they have any backbone at all to stand up to these people?

18. I think the party leaders already have. I believe that the DLC and the
CBC (congressional black caucus) know that they cannot win without the black vote. I assume that they have already told Hil and Bill that she will be the VP choice. I believe they were very surprised at how quickly the Progressives took over this nomination and while they can't undo that and they can't win without blacks, they can force Obama to put her on the ticket.

4. Her camp is already calling the SDs failure to move "support" for her ...

I think rational people realize that the Super Delegates are only
giving the public the full chance to have their voices heard, but
the (IRRATIONAL!) Clinton campaign is interpreting this *hesitation*
to come out for Obama as support for HER. I can only pray that
on June 4 there is an AVALANCHE of Super Delegates toward Obama
and Typhoon Terry McAwful will FINALLY have to shut his frigging
piehole for good.

5. Last week I was willing to offer an olive branch, but
today I fear we may have a Trojan horse on our hands. Even though she has stopped overtly attacking Obama, she has lied about absolutely EVERYTHING and we know that she will say/do ANYTHING to get her way.

6. no. that's silly.
stop getting hysterical. He's got it. And he's completely proven he knows what he's doing. I strongly suspect he's been recognized by those at the highest level of the party as the nominee- behind the scenes.

12. Cali - yes, he's got it...but
..if he has to wait until August to wrest it out of her "cold, dead hands", he doesn't have a prayer in hell of winning in November and neither do a lot of other Dems depending on a strong campaign. It ain't over until the diva sings!

8. Obama wasn't born yesterday, and he is savvy in a way
that is lost on the conventional wisdom on political gamesmanship of the past 3 decades. He's gotten this far because they keep playing the same old game while he's writing a new rule book.

11. I think his best bet is ignoring her
and concentrating on mccain. It can't be seen as if he's disrespecting her because that would piss off her supporters. The reality is that while Sen Obama will be the nominee, this was a very close race. I know people like to pretend he's miles ahead but that just isn't so.

He also needs to point out the issue of the supreme court. It's my very first issue and he needs to remind voters that the next president is going to have 2 (for sure) or 3 (maybe) nominations. This is a very critical argument to make.

15. You can argue with the deranged person...
and get into a fight, or humor them until the van comes with the nice men in white coats. Obama is doing the latter, so as not to upset the extended family of the deranged. It's that simple.

22. A friend listened to Tom Daschle on Ed Schultz earlier today
And summarized as follows:

Tom says they’re not so worried about what Hillary is out there saying – that they will let her come to the close of the race as she sees fit. He says that he’s heard from a lot of Supers who want to get to the end of all the primaries, and then make their pledges – and all the ones he’s heard from are for Barack.

Obama has more savvy than some of the Clinton supporters would like to believe - just look at his campaign and look where he came from in the early polls to where he is now. No one else in the field managed to do that.

While I'm impatient with this process and hate the outrage that Clinton is whipping up, I'm confident that the Obama team knows what Camp Clinton is trying to pull. I'm just tired of waiting for the endgame and don't like wasting time while McCain cools his heels.
