Hillary's Clinton's Debts by Vendor - $19,480,893.26 Outstanding
Edited on Wed May-21-08 05:26 PM by Stephanie

Can you BELIEVE this list? And I DELETED ALL THE DEBTS UNDER $1000 just to make the list manageable. WTF?

Interesting that the "fired" Mark Penn was paid $3,098,972.00 and is OWED $4,825,911.61. That's $8M this month to her "former" strategist.

I'd imagine some of these small businesses might like to get their invoices paid. I know $10,941.07 isn't a lot to a $109-millionairess, but I bet it really matters to Dakota Pizza.

This list is appalling. Shame on her. How can she pretend to claim the mantle of "competence" - what a joke.

2. Notice the campaign owes HRC $16,000
She must have coughed up some cash upfront - maybe for that drinking binge she went on in PA. :)

8. I wonder if that isn't interest on the $10-million she loaned her campaign
Last month's report showed a balance of $10,879.89 owed to HRC.

LOL - I think she'd find a way for others to cover it ... like the little Hatfield boy who sold his bike and video games.

39. Terry McAuliffe said this week that they'll worry about paying their bill after contest over, seemed
not at all concerned that vendors have not been paid. Says that's the way it's always done. Of course, McAuliffe is an incredibly wealthy man.

I hope the Clintons do not expect anyone to raise money to help pay Mark Penn's unpaid millions. The Clintons ought to file a negligence lawsuit against him.

3. I got an idea.
Someone needs to take this list. Run around and get statements from the stiffed vendors. And make a brilliant little 527 ad.

Anybody got a few thousand dollars and a video camera I can borrow?

15. Exactly. It'd be a brilliant ad. Very compelling.
Explain how $10,000 not received on time caused a family's budget to be tight. Cut back employee hrs. See the impacts.

Anyone up for a project? I'm feeling inspired.

17. Maybe!
We'd need people in PA, OR, NC to tape interviews with vendors. Then we'd just need someone to edit it and put it on youtube.

27. Exactly !
If you compare the debts on the April report with those on the May report, the latter are new debts - from recent primaries. She was late paying some vendors in the past - before she loaned the campaign the millions of dollars she happened to have lying around like so many of us hardworking, non-elite folks like her do

I'm an Obama supporter but I don't like to see facts distorted. Actually, that's one of the reasons I'm not a Hillary supporter.

31. No one is "distorting" anything, and some of the debts DO appear quite old >
The stated point is that she is $20M in the hole and hundreds of vendors are waiting for their money. Don't play the victim with false accusations. Go to the source and look at what she owes:

http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2008/M5/C00431569/D_DEBTS_C00431569.html

I bet the Austin Public School District would like their money already.

32. Go look at the April report. That debt is not listed.
Ergo, it is less than 30 days old. You may pay your bills the minute they arrive, but in business taking 30 days to pay is typical and expected by the vendor.

Lets check the June report when it comes out. If Austin Public School District is still on it, I'll rejoin the complaining because it will be a valid complaint. Lets leave the faux outrage to the Hillbots, shall we ?

34. I appreciate your CONCERN, but there is nothing FAUX about her $20M in DEBTS
When I have a few hours, I'll take a look at the HUNDREDS of vendors she owes and see how many are holdovers from last month. The bottom line is she is broke, and these folks were not paid.

38. In a slightly related story

DEBT CONSULTANTS

THE rocketing increase in consumer credit has brought new life to an old business: debt counseling. Hundreds of consultants (also called poolers, liquidators, lumpers, managers, proraters) have sprung up around the nation and, in radio and newspaper ads, sing a soothing song: "Cheer up! No matter how much you owe or how many creditors you have—we will take over, arrange everything so that a single regular payment you can afford takes care of everything." Some imply that they will lend the debtor enough money to pay off his debts. But all the counselors do is collect money from the debtor, put him on a budget, try to get his creditors to agree to a repayment schedule, and use the debtor's money to pay off. For this service fees run from 10% to 50% of the total debt. After a survey of debt adjusters in 40 cities, the National Better Business Bureau reported that in 28, "Experience has been, on the whole, unfavorable." Actually, debt adjusting has usually been more of a racket than a service.
