Advice for those criticizing clinton
Please avoid using __tch, and other viewed misogynistic words, or apologize in the cases if you believe that you have. Yeah I know it's nebulous, but just say what you would normally say among female company that you aren't personal with. Otherwise you're just giving people a reason to dismiss your point before you even get it across, it does a disservice to the amount of time you spend writing it, because some of the very people you are trying to convince, are just going to stop reading after reading seeing these words. If we wish to vent (or don't care about convincing other people on here)then I can't stop you, but if you want to tailor your message to convince those who don't necessarily agree to you to your side, help your cause and nix those words please thanks. I have a lot of anger at Sen. Clinton right now, but I am not going to help aid to her claims of rampant sexism. If you agree with this keep it rec'ed

2. I stopped attacking Clinton after Obama became inevitable.
However, in my case the argument wouldn't work, because many people I know, male and female, use the word liberally to describe both males and females who are whiny and petty and weak. The people here who equate it to racial slurs live on a different planet from me. However, I have gotten to know them here and modify my language accordingly.

21. Luckily they are few and far between. Most just stick to the facts
and explain their disdain.

The word 'bitch' is unnecessary.

6. This is what I tried to post on that thread but it was locked.
This thread is a perfect example of how a side issue detracts from, and almost totally negates the effect of the point that the op was making.

Lesson learned?

It is definitely counter productive to use words that people are going to object to
irrespective even of whether the objections are valid or not. (not saying the objections here aren't valid, I'm just saying with anything in general, if you want to make a point, stay away from inflammatory terms.

In this case, just the point being made without the objectionable term was enough for the reader to be able to form his own conclusion.

And just opt to call her other names.

11. Well, I'm just saying there's no need to use ANY term that could be at all construed as sexist
just stick to criticizing her on the basis of what she's lacking as a human being. Her failings have nothing to do with her gender.

15. BITCH! BRAV-F*CKING-O! Avoid using __tch!!!!!1111111!!!!
It's not rampant sexism when done by Hillary and her supporters!!

"Bitch is the new Black"!

And don't forget how sexist it is to call her Hillary instead of Senator Clinton. I've been reminded of that over and over again on this board.

We don't need no stinking rules when we have some great double standards firmly in place.

Edited on Thu May-22-08 06:02 AM by ShortnFiery
we dare say anything less than flattering about her royal entitlement Goddess. :eyes:

She has it BOTH WAYS because the Clintons have spent decades intimidating the SHIT out of people. :puke:

How about *BIPOLAR* for HRC? We never know if "Sweet Hillary" or "Swaggering Senator Clinton" is going to appear on any given day. :scared:

The word "b***H" in any situation doesn't do females any good.

20. I completely agree.
I've never referred to Ms. Clinton as a b*tch and never would - I think 'sociopath' is more appropriate, not to mention genderless.

but I guess those were too much for the conversation. It's a shame because I think they were on the money.
