Obama: Popular vote from FL meaningless

Does the popular vote in Florida count for anything, we asked Sen. Barack Obama on the ride from Tampa to Orlando: "Look, I think it's fair to say that in all these races if I didnt campaign at all and this had just been a referendum on name recognition, Sen. Clinton would be the nominee. That's true in Iowa, that's true in practically every state we've won. It's pretty hard to make an argument that somehow you winning what is essentially a name recognition contest in Florida was a good measure of electoral strength there. It"s even tougher to make that argument in Michigan where my name wasn't even on the ballot.

Obama also said splitting Florida's delegation in half based on the Jan. 29 result - which was the GOP penalty what many see as the most likely outcome of the DNC rules committee on 5/31 - would be "a very reasonable solution."

He made no apologies for signing a pledge to boycott Florida: "Everybody signed that. It was voluntary in name only. Had we not agreed to that we would be in a position where on the one hand the DNC was telling you this won't count, on the other hand you've gone out of your way to offend the first two states where you know that it will count. I would hardly call that voluntary."

41. awesome pic, I agree...
and all that needs said about this "controversy" surrounding FL & MI (if you can EVEN call MI a controversy when she was the only one on the ballot) is what Barack said ---

"It's pretty hard to make an argument that somehow you winning what is essentially a name recognition contest in Florida was a good measure of electoral strength there. It"s even tougher to make that argument in Michigan where my name wasn't even on the ballot."

24. I love the look of confidence and joy in Wexler's face.
He was very brave to step out, pretty early on, and support Obama while facing quite a bit of pressure from Florida Dems to back Clinton.

They make a good team.

for those of you who missed the other posts. Nice to have them all in one place....from RubySlippers and starring some of the friends she met inside. Note the older white woman in the wheelchair. Another one not voting for Hillary!!!!! And, she secretly told me she was a Republican in the past. She openly wept when he came onstage.

40. I love love love this one, it reminds me of the rally I saw him at; a tapestry of Americans
Would it be rude of me to mention races? I hope not, but because this primary has been sliced up so severely down racial lines it stands out to me that this one picture has what appears to be:
3 white people in the far left, latino holding a beautiful latina child, in front of latina, black man, black woman, black woman all 6 of whom seem to be smashing the mess out of the white woman in the middle. On the right are possibly a filipino? couple who are with the person whose reaction is the best out of everyone in this photo collection, the expression on her face is priceless. All of those smiling people making the multi-colored petals of a flower. This kind of support of Obama's candidacy is why I have come to want his win for this country in addition to all the other reasons; It really is time we just got along.

47. Beautifully said, I love the way that no one
in the photograph seems to care who is standing next to them.

The White lady could also be Hispanic but when you look at her very closely, she is loving being crushed by the overwhelming thrill of being there.

I would love to find out who she was and how she really felt about that moment.

He is magnetic. Yes. He. Is. and he never has to say "Sorry" because he is not doing anything special to get the reaction that he gets.

It's just in his DNA.

I love photographs because they capture the soul.
