How she wins
She "wins" by being a victim. Not the WH, but a fractured party with what she values most. Loyalty over competence. She wins because she proves that she can take the party down with her.

This is why everyone is walking on eggshells, IMO.

If she can portray herself as a martyr, and have all of her supporters clamoring for the poor little girl -- she has won this in her mind.

She can't go out with a whimper and she can't pull off a Dodd/Richardson/Edwards and back our presumptive nominee. It isn't in her DNA. In order to feel self-validated and "save face", she HAS to force the party to force her hand.

It is the only way that the EGO can be satisfied and salve its wounds from the humiliation. To have pot and pan banging mini-'mobs' validating her self-worth and to hell with the party and the future of the country.

Just typing this, I think I threw up a little in my mouth.

Apropos:

2. It's a real test for the Democratic Party and how
they are going to deal with a candidate who has lost, won't bow out, and is now performing a phony, pathetic dog and pony show to press for Florida and Michigan to be instated, having already signed onto their disposition months ago.

She is doing a version of the Clear Skies initiative in which she is pretending to champion the vote in Florida and Michigan when, in fact, just about everybody knows she doesn't have a legal or moral leg to stand on and her efforts are entirely self-serving.

I'm optimistic the Democratic body politic is smarter than that.

5. No question they are smarter. The question (in my mind) is how to go about it.
And it isn't so much an issue of having a spine, as I see it. It is more about rumor control and the old addage that addressing a rumor can lend to its validity.

This is the position I think our party is in right now.

If they cut her off at the knees, the pot and pan brigade will scream "sexism" (with her leading the talking points). She isn't going to win, and she isn't going to exit gracefully -- so we are at a draw.

If the party appears to ham-fisted about this (like her entire campaign is being run), then we all lose.

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOATHE emotional manipulation and passive-aggressive games?

Good God, this woman reminds me of my mother's dysfunctional passive-aggressive insane family.

22. I hear you..
My Mom, may she rest in peace, was an emotionally manipulative, passive/aggressive mind game playing pain in the you know where. Consequently, I absolutely can't stand anyone with that emotional make up. That's probably why I never liked Hillary very much at all, and when it was time to decide between Hillary or Obama after Edwards dropped out, it was a no brainer.

33. Nobody worth their salt likes these "emotional manipulative
passive-aggressive games" and anyone doing them out in the real world would be handled appropriately. hilary would be nowhere with this without the m$$$$fm.. just like bush.

If someone were doing that to me I would ignore them and not associate with them anymore but hilary seems to have taken the Democratic Party into an emotional hostage situation.

No woman I know is like this ..they are all strong women who coincidently support Obama.

9. Heya Jim!
I am having trouble wrapping my mind around this. Of course, I am sane, so am at a disadvantage.

I really thought she would go out on a high note in WV or KY.

I am seeing a whole other angle to this now that she has vowed to take it to the Convention this week.

JRE did in January as well, but there is a markedly different tone to the HRC campaign this week and it isn't sitting well with me at all.

While the Hillary supporters push the meme that White working people won't vote for a Black man, Obama keeps on trooping.

Meanwhile, Hillary cries Sexism.....her "new" meme.

8. Obama doesn't whine about it
I heard an interview where Obama said if he lost it wouldn't be because of his race. The fact that HRC portrays herself as a victim is proof enough for me that she isn't competent to be POTUS. Would people really see her as a strong candidate in the GE if she pities herself into the nomination.

The Clinton campaign spews crap about "white Americans" and the media constantly treats voters like COMMODITIES ... and the Obama campaign keeps on trucking. Then the Hillbots concoct shit about him "complaining" about what card the CLINTON CAMPAIGN plays ... fucking disgusting!

11. She's been playing this game
Edited on Wed May-21-08 08:32 PM by Jake3463
Since 1992. She reminds me of one of my ex's in HS. However she grew up and became a very fine young woman and mother with 4 beautiful children.

Bill never grew up and neither did Hillary. They are still acting like children.

We made a deal with the devil when we didn't hand his ass to the GOP after Monica and make Al President.

37. Yup.
The Clintons have been playing the Victim role in their melodrama for years. They NEED "Villains" ... and just keep pointing the finger. Then folks go rushing off in a mob to "Rescue" the poor Victims of that melodrama.

The "Poor Nell" act wore thin long ago.
