Who is this "Hillary" of whom you speak?
Is she another one of those also-ran candidates, like Mike Gravel or Lee Mercer, Jr.*? One of those candidates who -- though filled with well-meaning spunk and ambition -- just didn't have what it takes to secure the nomination?

I don't understand all the energy and agony expended on someone who, at this point, is irrelevant to the presidential race. I haven't seen any angry anti-Gravel or anti-Mercer threads in quite a while. Why so many anti-Hillary Clentan threads?

From reading the posts on this board I get the impression that this Hillary person is a bit upset that she didn't get the nomination, and she and her husband are acting out and doing some wacky things to express their displeasure. So what? My neighbor down the street threw a fit when people in the neighborhood complained that his Halloween display was a fire hazard and the cops made him take it down. Did we pay him any mind? No. And after a while he shut up about it. Why treat this Hillary person any differently? She and her husband will only act up more if they get attention.

Best just to turn away, and concentrate on the real goal, which is beating McCain.

*No offense to any Lee Mercer, Jr. supporters intended. We'll certainly need all of your help in the general election.

1. Eh, she's the person who has kept Barack Obama from clinching the nomination.
You may see her as a halloween costume, but about half of the voting Democrats in this country see her as their candidate.

Lee Mercer supporters (all three) were never in that position.

3. Thank you. I've been concentrating on the nominee and winning the general election
so I haven't been paying as much attention to some of these other candidates (there were so many of them, it was hard to keep track of them all).

If I were you, I wouldn't be so critical of Lee Mercer, Jr. supporters, however. If you want a Democrat to win, we'll need their help.

8. Sorry, Walter.
From your OP it appeared that you were concentrating on the other remaining Democratic candidate. Missed the part where you were concentrating on the nominee and winning the general election. My bad.

Lee Mercer supporters are going to vote for him no matter what (all three).

16. Huh? I was just hoping that someone could explain to me who Hillary is.
And I was explaining that it's best not to worry about trivial bumps in the road when the presidency is at stake.

Who knew that this Hillary person and her husband could cause such outrage?

Wow, if she can rile up Democrats like this, just imagine how Republicans would act if they ever caught wind of her.

5. She is the New Bush.....using Bush Tactics at everyturn.......
Her "Count the Votes" reminds me of the "Count the Soldiers Votes" cries during the 2000 election.

6. ignore her and her groupies
wasserman shultz, ferraro, the entire herd will try to goad us into one confrontation after another with threats, lies and base thuggery. Obama and the Netroots revolution is an existential threat to the Clintons and the deeply entrenched status quo they represent, that until Feb fully expected uninterrupted political power. They are using her defunct campaign to weaken the Netroots by inciting a Netroots Civil War on the left. IGNORE THEM. THEY LOST.

11. Well, if Lee's platform is not high on this Hillary person, I guess there may be
good reason for the anger directed toward her. It's really a shame his campaign didn't catch on a bit more, since he really had some innovative ideas (though he did have some very fervent supporters).

12. Thank you!!
Another voice of reason.

For a while I've been concerned that all my fellow Obama supporters on Democratic Underground, were determined to live in the past and keep rehashing the arguments of a primary battle that is now over.

People we have work to do, we have an election to do!! Everybody here knows something they can do, something they need to be doing to help our man win the election. To hell with the petty arguments and let's get to work. If you haven't already done so ... BarackObama.com, go and register dammit!!
