Why no supers for Obama today?
Why has the trickle of 3-5 supers declaring for Senator Obama - a trend that we've been seeing each day for weeks - why has that come to a stop? (The flow eased yesterday with 2 and stopped today with 0.)

I've seen posts that declared that we Obama supporters were frothing for a huge slam of supers in one fell swoop (remember when we heard that 50 supers were going to hold a press conference at once), but instead of that, how we now admire how Obama's team and supers wisely decided to play it brilliantly by having the supers declare a few at a time each day, to keep the momentum moving and to maintain higher visibility with each new day's count in each news cycle.

Now I suspect that the O-Team (an A-Team for sure) has requested the flow to stop, and is gathering up future declarations for an huge announcement in one fell swoop!

KA-BOOM!

A large swath of supers to put him past 2,025. Heck, maybe a large enough group to put him past 2,210 (tee hee hee)

on lots of days... perhaps people are waiting for something???

3. Probably because Obama is totally imploding and will never be the nominee.
:eyes:

The likely explanation is that the superdelegates are giving Hillary some breathing room until June 3rd to get out of this thing graciously. They're doing her a huge favor, but you're free to gripe about it. :-)

Obama is instructing the supers who call him to "hold off" so that a huge bunch can all declare at once like a knock out punch! I thought that would be pretty exciting. Perhaps my OP was not clear enough?

11. They won't do that, either.
That would alienate too many Hillary supporters (even though she deserves the humiliation).

I think Supers are getting their demands together for the candiates - rules of engagement. If it's going to convention, they hold the cards.

19. Oh! I'm sorry.
You're absolutely right, and I do feel strongly that the supers are just giving her some room. It's the right thing to do, and since we're at the endgame with only days left before the nomination procedure officially ends, they'll deliver when they're called upon to do so, if she decides she's going to Denver. :-)

4. They don't want to look like they're pushing Sen. Clinton out, I think. He's already secured the
"presumptive" crown backstage, and has begun shifting the DNC into GE mode. They'll wait until the RBC and June 3rd primaries to be finished, and then end it cleanly and clearly.

5. Because HRC and her Devil's Rejects surrogates are on a nasty "full court press" to INTIMIDATE
Obama to asking her and her Clintonian DLC into the Executive Branch.

THIS IS VILE. I hope Obama and his advisers "stay strong."

NO MORE!

NOT. THIS. TIME. :nuke:

14. Not panicking, I just keep thinking he plays it like a chess match
but the explanations above (holiday weekend, slow news day, good weather, nobody wanting to be in the final group that pushes HRC out...) those are all plausible.

If Democrats really had buyers' remorse about Obama, wouldn't she be leading the tracking polls?

28. He only needs 20 more superdelegates by June 3
That will allow him to reach 2,025 during the last primary.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=6066612&mesg_id=6066612

It'll look better because the voters will have made the final decision, and not the Superdelegates.

After that there'll be a lot of switches and additional endorsements that will put it out of reach for Hillary no matter how FL and MI are counted.

except for the people that switch unexpectantly or people who are friends with the Clintons that don't want to have the talk.

There is alot of talking going on between the two campaigns that we will never know.
