McCain ADMITS he's too old to run for Prez!
Here's an interview with Jim Lehrer from 2000 where McCain says "I might be ready to go down to the old soldiers home" in 2008...

Guess he forgot he said that... ;)

1. Jesse Ventura was hammering the age issue on Larry King the other night...

He actually made a good point! If US gov't employees are forced to retire at 65--how can the guy in charge of the government not follow suit....

I'm not sure if I agree with the forced retirement--but it isn't very consistant is it???

Let me add, I think it best to stay away from the age issue--it was just surprising to me that Jesse Ventura engage it.

2. I'm not for forced retirement, either...
...but there are a lot of other things about McCain that make him unfit to be President of anything, much less this Republic!

4. He's also considered 100% totally disabled, and his benefits are nontaxable, because
he can not be gainfully employed in any capacity.

3. I still say McCain is a marker.
If he wins the election, he won't be prez for long. They just have him there to run for the office while they try to figure out/groom the VP. McCain will pull out of the race or pull out of the presidency shortly after he is elected.

6. What is the risk of McCain's melanoma returning. MSNBC did not give doctor's assessment of the risk
Edited on Fri May-23-08 10:12 AM by flpoljunkie
Assessing the risk, grading the tumor is always done. Wonder if his doctors will be releasing this information. McCain has dermatologic checkups every three months. Paging CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta... He will be in Phoenix area going over McCain's health records, according to CNN.

8. "The 10 year survival rate for intermediate melanoma is 65%." McCain is 8 years out.
We don't have a crystal ball, but we have no way to say anything at the present time would preclude him from running for office," said dermatologist Connolly.

The 10-year survival rate for that intermediate melanoma is 65 percent, said Dr. Stuart Lessin, director of the melanoma risk-assessment program at Philadelphia's Fox Chase Cancer Center, who was not involved in McCain's care.

"He's not cured," Lessin said. Still, the biggest risk of recurrence is in the first few years, so at eight years out, the chances of melanoma returning at that spot and killing him is "in the single digits," he added. "He's pretty much out of the woods."
